I don't really care about crime that much. I wonder if legalizing drugs is what caused the crime to be that big. If so I would really disagree with whoever programmed that event. I think historically we know that the opposite is true, refer to [prohibition] for more info.

I don't think so, I have legalized drugs and my crime is low. Might be something else..maybe the massive gap between the classes?
I think it is because of the tiny government not having any resources to battle crime.

My second issue was Free Speech. Some religious nuts were complaining there is too much. I decided to give them more free speech.

My country doesn't even have prisons and my crime is "relatively low".
Most likely your censors have strong ties with crime and they decided not to report crime rates correctly.

My new issue was budged. So I was going to invest in security to reduce that crime stuff but then I thought. "Oh maybe welfare is better as it is the cause of crime" but then I asked myself "Why are these idiots unemployed in the first place?" so I invested in education instead.

The Fiefdom of Greater Aspergia is a tiny, devout nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate population of 12 million are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The large, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 30%, but much higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Furniture Restoration and Book Publishing.

Organ donation rates have hit a new low, all major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, gambling is outlawed, and organ donation is compulsory. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Greater Aspergia's national animal is the lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the ducat.

Greater Aspergia is ranked 3rd in the region and 51,767th in the world for Largest Nations.

The Most Serene Republic of Spyralvia is a tiny, devout nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 16 million are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, liberal, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Defence and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 58%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Soda Sales.

Surveillance cameras are banned, the tenet of free speech is held dear, all recreational drugs are legal, and Spyralvia's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region. Crime is well under control. Spyralvia's national animal is the sea turtle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the splonk.

Spyralvia is ranked 2nd in the region and 15,057th in the world for Largest Retail Sector.

I was off line for the last 4 days so 4 issues appeared today.
1. Some nuts wanted death penalty and I just banned it.
2. Nudists wanted abolition of anti-public nudity law. I am no nudist and I wouldn't like meeting an ugly nude person on the street, but I allowed public nudity anyway.
3. Some nuts were complaining about high divorce rates. A priests suggested to prohibit divorce. A guy suggested to make calling your espouse 'darling' once in a day compulsory... And for some reason homosexuals asked for same-sex marriage, so I allowed same-sex marriage.

* I missed the option to ban different-sex marriage . Marriage shouldn't legally exist. It is discriminatory by nature. Allow same-sex marriage and you are only patching the issue. The government would still ban marriages between 4 people, marriages between human and objects and marriages between human and fictional characters.

4. Scientists wanted me to allow human cloning. I of course agreed.

For me, this is my country:

The Empire of Psittacorum

“Fire All Weapons And Destroy Enemy Targets”

The Empire of Psittacorum is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 16%. A tiny private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Psittacorum's national animal is the parakeet, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the millet.

For about the same length of time that the dictator remains benevolent, or until a benevolent dictator is replaced with a malevolent dictator.

Or until the dictator decides it is more important for him to protect his status than to do good.

Yeah, an unstable leader would only remain good for so long. There would need to be a way that the "dictator" could be fired if he got out of line, if it is assumed that all such leaders are inevitably going to change for the worst.

It seems my crime rate went for "Very bad" to moderate just as I recently approved a law to castrate rapists...

The United Socialist States of Eristi is a large, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-working, intelligent population of 81 million enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass -- juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Information Technology and Door-to-door Insurance Sales.

High-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, anti-government web sites are springing up, the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, and parents live in fear of governmental 'child protection' squads. Crime is relatively low. Eristi's national animal is the platypus, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the dollar.

Eristi is ranked 6th in the region and 32,819th in the world for Most Devout Nations.

Civil Rights:Superb
Economy:Strong
Political Freedoms:Excellent

The Rogue Nation of Hugglesland is a fledgling, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 53%, and even higher for the wealthy.
