With regards to who minorities elect, there is a difference between an option and a free choice. Usually for national elections, minorities only get to choose between 2 viable white candidates.

Blacks voted for obama to the tune of 96 to 98 percent. That level of lopsidedness is pathetic. Dictators running rigged elections in oneparty states usually don't poll this level of support. How can they be taken seriously as a democratically-minded electoral bloc when they vote automatically like sheep.

Ill post a more comprehensive response later but I'm texting this post on a mobile phone.

Blacks favored Obama by 91 points. The 96% number comes from the estimate of how many eligible black voters actually voted. And, in fact, the election had the largest voter turnout in presidential election history. (these are estimated figures, of course)

And I wouldn't say it's pitiful so much as to show a) how little they understand the system and b) how neglected they feel as a portion of the population that they'd have such a voter boom when a black candidate finally made it up to bat.

It's just a shame they didn't know about Cynthia McKinney.

I remember reading that blacks supported Obama by about 90% or so. That's really not much different from the level at which blacks normally support the Democratic candidate, largely because the GOP has done all they can to pander to certain racist segments of the far right and alienate potential black voters.

You could just as well say that university professors supported Obama almost unanimously; therefore professors are only willing to vote for other professors (Obama taught law at U. Chicago for a while) and will support other academics like "sheep." And if we're talking about electoral blocs that vote automatically, how about the "religious right?" The entire Republican electoral strategy is based around them.

I still don't get how people could vote for a guy who was a victim of torture and clearly shows signs of PTSD on the senate floor. Then on top of him being tortured, he supported the torture of others (which, I guess isn't different from abused kids who later grow up to abuse their own kids).

I seem to recall McCain coming out fairly vocally in opposition to torture, including waterboarding. Did I miss something? That was one of the few places where I liked McCain's position.

i'm curious how many of you have traveled extensively? i've been in libya, algeria, egypt , israel, sudan, chad, turkey and afghanistan. the 'common' people were usually friendly, sharing their food and their homes, anxious to hear about life where the freedom to travel and consume so much was taken for granted.( in israel i went to palestinian areas).

i invariably gave away everything i had with me, including underwear and socks, even my beloved walkman f1 that i had treasured for 20 years.

hate us for our freedom? nonsense. i'm sure one of george 43's writers came up with that.

when the conversation would turn to israel, attitudes changed. america's support for israel is why they hate us. the way they perceive how palestinians are treated is why they hate us. taliban? the taliban hate everybody except bigots.

i'm not making judgements, just stating the truth. it's not american's that "they' hate, it's america.

anti-semite? no, no i'm not. i despise all religions equally. the truth has nothing to do with bigotry. can anyone deny that the brilliance of israel's supporters to 'purchase' members of congress 50 years ago and maintaing that advantage over the years is the best political move ever?

it's a pity that people like adams and jefferson etc. cannot be resurrected.

He shifted position on that before the election and got on board with "the party"*.

*For those of you who don't get the reference, I'm making a reference to how in communist Russia, certain groups saw favoritism if they joined the communist party and officially got on board. You see a similar favoritism, politically right now, if you side with "the party" here. It's why democrats can't get a consistent vote despite having the majority.

I don't think it's pathetic. As the former PM of Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew said: "In multiracial societies, you don't vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion." Blacks seem to understand this more than Whites do.

Still, I see you are prepared to question the received wisdom about America's "progress" towards a "post-racial" future, which is more than can be said for Orwell, with his reams of nonsense.

I've lately come to the conclusion that life is too short to spend much time trying to get liberal aspies to see reality. Even if one makes headway, the message is unlikely to travel any further.

When you think about it, it makes lots of sense that the Blacks would vote for the conservative Republican party.............. Black Americans are actually collectively more socially conservative than whites generally are. But they routinely line up 9/10 behind the Democrats regardless of their candidate?

My solution, since you asked, would honestly be sort of a balkanization of America into a black state around the gulf-coast centered on New Orleans, mabye a Hispanic state in the Southwest(Atlazan,) a Muslim state in parts of Michigan, and mabye an Asian zone somewhere on the west coast. Ethnic groups would realign in a civilized population transfer............ White America would be fractured into 2 nations. There would be a white-dominated state ruling in the upper south, the midwest, Appalacia, and the Rocky Mountain country, basically all of the 'Red states.' The other territory would form 2 new multicultural zones/states where all races would sort things out the best they could and live together, and like-minded liberals like you guys would move there.

The multicultural states would be 2 new nations: The first nation would compromise the remainder of California after the Asians and Mexicans carved out zones, plus Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii. The 2nd mulitcultural state would be comprised of new-England, New York, the mid-Atlantic to Washington DC, and the Great Lakes zone + chicago. Race-Mixing, quotas, and all of this stuff would be accepted and the norm in these states.

The Black state would comprise of the southern parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, and spread into parts of Texas and reach upwards to incorporate Memphis, TN. Perhaps the black areas of the Carolinas and Virginia could be added or create another Black state, The Mexicans would receive South Texas, NM, south Arizona, and SO-Cal, and/or this territory would be united with Mexico. White conservatives would retain the national heartland and impose measures to vigorously preserve the integrity and character of the new state.

South Florida would become a Cuban offshoot state.

America will never again be what it was 50 or 100 years ago, so the goal is just now to preserve the pre-1965 settler white population and just write off the territorial losses.

Quote:
Now, you said a while ago that it wasn't about race, but rather about culture. Since then you have gone on a series of entirely racially-based claims and speculations. I suspect it is about race with you, and just like other racists you cloak it in euphemistic nonsense about "culture."

Every time conservatives make valid points(and I'm not a true conservative really,) liberals just seem to make lots of noise and say "racist racist racist," so mabye the conservative gives up? Its a tired act thats been going on since the 60's and no one cares about buzzwords like 'racist' anymore.

Quote:
I'm not talking satire, I'm talking about actual liberal opposition to Obama on substantive policy grounds. You can find liberals saying "The health care bill was a disappointment because of the deals with the drug companies and the lack of a public option." You will find conservatives screaming "ZOMG DEATH PANELS!! !!"

The difference between these two? One is behaving like a rational adult, the other is batshit crazy. Sadly, the latter seems to be extremely common among conservative circles these days.

As far as "out of control," when you have people shouting about armed resistance, that's usually a sign that it's out of control and you should be concerned.

I agree some conservatives take it too far and there are plenty of extremeists but I am quick to call them out as well. Liberals have their own extremeists as well who take things too far. Why does it always go to "crazy conservatives?" I don't identify at all with the gun nuts and I'm all too happy to point out their hypocrisies and failings, especially when it comes to Christian Fundamentalism and all of that, and many other things.

Quote:

There is much conformity to liberal values as well amongst ivory-tower academia, unfortunately. Huge liberal bias with this group.

Sadly the Universities seem to naturally advocate a huge discipline to liberal values with their students. Conservative dissenters often get ostracized or suppressed or in WCSes even taken to task in many ways by their liberal professors. Disciplines like sociology are so lopsidedly liberal to become unhealthy for the study as only the liberal viewpoint is really represented.

The doctrines of Political correctness and "anti-racism/white-impotence" are unfortunately our contemporary versions of the Spanish Inquisition. Anyone who dare disagrees has wrath brought down on them.

I feel that Americans are indoctrinated to feel positive about a minority-majority America and to not dare question the development or try to resist. Ditto for the Obamanation.

Anyway, the goal is not to convice or 'convert' hardcore lefties like Orwell and Skafather.............. they would have fine homes in the multicultural zone where they would be happily away from us "crazy conservatives." ............. They could live with their own socialist dogma and be free to put their theories and sociology axioms to practice and carry out all sorts of social experiments. It would really be best for everyone.

The goal though is to show moderates and undecideds that we aren't "crazy conservatives" and that the leftists' painting of us as 'racists' and such is nonsense....... And that we do have a reasonable alternative to the Obamanation and the chaos of a minority-majority America. Whites at best will be 2nd class citizens in such a 'post-racial' America so its only right to be offered an alternative without it being suppressed by liberals who are determined to see their demograpic change succeed.

By throwing out buzzwords like 'racist' and 'ignorant,' any criticism of thier plans is suppressed. The goal is then to counter in this struggle.

The liberals are as of now winning the 'battle for the minds' and Propaganda warfare quite handily through their control of the schools and media. I give them that. They are very efficacious at creating new liberal youth who are fully indoctrinated to multiculturalism and Obama-Worship. The left has an absolute stranglehold with regards to propaganda and shaping minds. Conservatives desperately need to come back and make inroads into this element.

White males, such as myself, already seem to be second class citizens. When employers seek to fill an employment opening, we convey no tax benefits, and we do not inspire "aesthetic pleasure" as my humanities textbook calls it. Women seem to get hiring preference in many jobs dealing with the general public and people belonging to minorities tend to be hired due to the tax benefits endowed upon the company. Have you ever gone to a business where a sign says "HELP WANTED", you go in and ask for a job application only to be told "we aren't hiring", and then later a new employee is hired who looks more like the owner of the establishment than you do?

In my area, it seems like many of the businesses are run with very little diversity, unless the owner/manager is white and then they must hire a variety of shades of melanin and "gender preferences" in order to meet a quota, get tax benefits, and most importantly to not be accused of racial discrimination.

I agree completely....

And unfortunately for younger white males, most of thier allotted quota, especially in government, is already filled by a mass of lethargic older white guys who seek nothing more than status-quo maintenance and keeping their positions. Young white males are already 2nd class citizens, if not worse, and their opportunities are limited in the ways you describe, to say the least.

But as I said, older white males already fill most of the white-male employment quotas, and for obvious reasons they cling to the jobs they hold desperately. Many white males in Congress are relics who as they expire will be replaced and are being replaced by minorities and women.

--------

Also, there are many Democrats who are 'conservative Christians' who Black Americans thus did vote for, like the late Sen. Byrd and others. Granted, they are mostly relics of the Dixiecrat era or come from overwhelmingly-white constituencies, but it goes to show that its more about pure party politics and allegiance than any actual real idealogical lines.

Contrary to what many think, there is no "good-old-boy" system in America by which older white people magically help younger people find these jobs that black people apparently aren't getting.

I'm not bothering with you, I suggest you do the same in turn. I have no respect for you so why should it put forth any effort to dredge up the numbers illustrating the full picture of how the prison population is being used as a modern slave force. You don't give a scheiße about them anyways because you don't care about minorities (who, not coincidentally, are the majority in jail).

Also, do you even have a point with that post? Like...any relevant point at all that has any kind of meaning? A potential for your past ancestors to have been slaves is meaningless to this current situation. It's also why I don't bother with most of you conservatives because you're brainwashed into the most idiotic, off-topic points that barely relate to the topic and derail the discussion. Just like your question in the other threat about asking "who designed the system" or whatever. That's idiotic because it doesn't matter. What matters is fixing the system to actually elevate all of society rather than running around in circles and allowing the garbage to still occur.

The Republicans since the 1960s have pursued electoral strategies that alienated the black vote. Before FDR blacks voted almost 100% Republican, and from the New Deal onwards they gradually started to shift more Democratic. Post-Civil Rights Movement they've been almost all Democrat. There are a lot of historical reasons for those voting patterns, and it isn't purely about policy issues.

I am not at all a fan of that idea.

No way. I live there, and I want to stay with my Jewish, Cuban, White, and Chinese friends. Ceding any part of the mainland US to the communist madness of Cuba would be a terrible mistake.

No, I don't call you racist because you made a point I disagreed with. I called you racist because you made several blatantly racist comments. It's not a liberal vs conservative thing. It's a "you are expressing racist viewpoints, therefore I can only assume that you are a racist" thing.

Quote:

Because the right-lunatics get a lot more attention and influence in the mainstream than the left-lunatics. Glenn Beck is more politically influential than someone like Noam Chomsky, and while the two are probably a somewhat similar distance away from the "center," Chomsky isn't crazy or stupid like Beck is. Chomsky holds radical views that I disagree with, but he is an intelligent, thoughtful person. His counterparts on the right fringe are not.

Hm... I actually don't really care that much about a minority-majority America. I live in a very cosmopolitan part of the country, and I honestly don't see the issues that you seem to assume would result. Cubans, Mexicans, Chinese, Koreans, Indians, Pakistani, Arab, Black, White, Jewish... for the most part, at least in my experience, people seem to be basically the same regardless of race. There are some cultural differences, but in the case of the various Asian and Near Eastern groups, those are almost entirely erased by the time of second- or third-generation immigrants because they assimilate into our culture very eagerly. Hispanics somewhat maintain their own culture, but largely just in the context of food, and I happen to like Cuban food, so no objections there. They're perfectly happy to coexist alongside Europeans. Blacks have probably the hardest time assimilating into the Western European culture, but there is a whole host of largely historical reasons for that, and despite some bumps in the road black-white interrelations are much smoother than they used to be.

Good luck with that. I don't think you'll convince anyone.

Quote:

In the public school I attended, my teachers regularly advocated Creationism, slammed on anything liberal, and constantly acted as apologists for Bush administration policy. The US Government textbook I used in my senior year civics class was nationally known for having an extreme right-wing bias. And conservatives have a long-established history of trying to subvert the public education system by injecting Creationism in science classes, and more recently trying to influence the Texas state textbook standards to support conservative viewpoints.

As far as the media, the "liberal media" is way over-exaggerated if it exists at all. I'll grant that MSNBC leans left on balance, but it is nowhere near to being the liberal equivalent to Fox. CNN is basically centrist, and for the most part they just report the news.
