Actually, powerful people who push other people around seem to do rather well. You can console yourself that they will be punished in the next life but that's just bully propaganda so you won't bother them in this life. It.s what suckers like to believe when they have no way to get even.

Not necessarily so.

I dealt with a guy who was a bully. He had status, authority, a nice job, but everyone thought he was an A-hole. He only stayed in his job because he knew how to work the system and people were afraid to stand up to him in large numbers on a consistent basis. Since I know how bullies work, I refused to cower before him...hence the conflict. In any case, everyone thought he was an A-hole and only gave him lip service as far as respect was concerned. If he died or retired, I'm sure the office would throw a party over the event. His peers thought he was a laughing stock. So self-important but honestly served no real purpose. All the important work was done by the guy beneath his position.

If a bully is a psychopath (or which ever term best applies) and cares nothing about what people think of him or honestly is delusional about how loved he is by others, yeah, he loses nothing and can do very well by being a bully with no real ill effect.

However, it's easy to be the most popular guy in town when everything is going your way. It's when times are tough you find out how many friends you really have in life. Bullies are very prone to be alone, unloved, rejected once they are no longer at the top of their game. They burned all their bridges trying to climb to the top of the mountain.

And there are no doubt many examples where bullies do great. So what does that prove?

So, when the holocaust happened, the WWII a-bombings, 911, any crime commited against someone, any abuse, God just isn't anybody's babysitter after all, right?

So, when people like Oscar Schindler protected as many Jewish people as they could, when world war II was finally ended, when not as many people die from a catastrophe or an attack as possibly may have, when any justice or mercy provided, God is never thanked, right? Instead, it seems that only when things go bad that God is blamed, yet whenever anything goes right God is never provided gratitude.

Looks more likely God is rather totally absent.

well, the issue isn't really about thanking vs blaming God, I believe it would be though IF the existence of the christian God was assumed or the issue is being discussed within believers. The issue here is mostly wether the existence and nature of the christian God makes sense according to reality or that it is consistent with reality, although we are dealing with morality and parhaps even existentialism.

The issue with bullies, well, if they have success and a good life, then apparently, something is wrong with the christian karma or is it that other sins are a lot much worse than bullying, like the consensual-sex sins for example? or perhaps God is on the bullies' side, as they likely can make that claim? I mean, in the OT, God, apparantely didn't comdemned slavery nor commanded for it to be abolished, but rather other "sins" were worse.

Amusing the way you altered my quote. Are you getting desperate?

Bullies suck for sure, their goal is to get happiness by taking it away from others. People who casually cause others displeasure are always running the risk of displeasing the wrong person.

If it weren't for bullies, I wouldn't have spent countless hours in the gym, studied the way I have, or learned any basic understanding for the people around me.

All the misery that bullies have brought me has helped me to appreciate settings where bullying doesn't occur.

I'd say bullies are a double edged sword.

I'd say the second option is closer to the truth.

When one takes the credit, they risk the blame. Likewise, one should be given some recognition if they are willing to take responsibility.

The alternative is just to make busy at the office, so to speak.

For success to be meaningful, failure has to be a possibility.

God seems neither to accept responsibility nor any blame. His successes seem unimpeded by disruption(he is infallible, right?), so he gets no credit.

Maybe thats it. Hes just a mediocre desk warmer.

A:He does.

Look at any bully in later life and they will have not achieved much to say the least. A bully can be intelligent but nobody likes them and therefore they are rejected. In a indirect way I suppose God does punish bullies. Because it is our human nature to reject those who abuse us. I still get the feeling I am not answering the question properly... I have just rearlized I preach a moral code and not a Christian one. So I must go and think about this. I have come to the concllusion that I cannot sufficiently answer the question.

Real life isnt "Back To The Future". Bullying is advantageous because it gains one an early advantage. This tends to accumulate and by adult hood, most bullies are doing well enough that they slack off the physical intimidation. There is a good chance that your boss was a bully.

Maybe he's letting everything build up to its fulfillment as he stated he would to Abraham in regard to the inhabitants of Canaan. While it may seem to be inactivity or even nonexistence due to not constantly interfering, it is also possible that such is a matter of patience and waiting. I notice that people seem to grow accustomed to the way things are presently, and as such the notion of a change in any current situation is hard to grasp.
