And Texas will pulverize West Virginia. Texas is one of the spark plugs of the American economy.

So either way, we come out on top. Perhaps setting Michigan against Georgia. It's a lot cheaper than sending soldiers to Afghanistan.

I like that. Michigan v Georgia. A true Iron Cage Death Match.

As to Afghanistan we should either eliminate it or leave it. Given the level of Political Correctness now abounding leaving Afghanistan sounds more likely. If we are not willing to eliminate our enemies to the last man, woman and child we should not be fighting them.

Wow, you're nuts. I guess that explains your extremist right views in the other thread. No empathy at all.

By the way, I support my country's sending of peace-keeping soldiers, there. I see it as necessary. And Sweden did not start the war. Neither did the whole Afghani people.

There's lots of countries we could come up with a good reason to invade. :P

It is getting too expensive to invade another country. West Virginia will invade Texas as an economy measure and sell it back to Mexico. The USA will give a great sigh of relief.

That would be incredibly stupid given the fact Texas is one of the states not having serious financial problems, if you want to sell a state back to Mexico look at California.

California is practically part of Mexico anyway due to the inaction of both the state and federal government. I know, the military could come invade California and liberate it from the alien invaders. :D

the drug war is out of control

Hopefully we'll get to keep the Baja peninsula.

Which, again, could be fixed simply be legalizing the vice laws and removing the power from the black market.

I agree, I support legalizing all drugs but I unfortunately I don't see that happening baring the collapse of the US government. Legalizing marijuana could significantly ease what's going on in Mexico.

Things are only going to get worse in Mexico and their government is in danger of collapsing.(their government already has essentially no control over parts of northern Mexico) This is why securing our border is so important. It really is an issue of national security. Where do you think these people are going to if their entire country falls into chaos? I wish we could just seal the border, cut them off from aid, and forget about them but I don't know how realistic that if worst comes to worst. We're not far from these drug cartels and gangs launching Pancho Villa style raids over the border. I suspect most Mexicans, if they put aside their nationalistic feelings, would welcome an American occupation to save their country from their corrupt inept government.

Sometimes I wonder if that's the reason the drugs war is out of control...

Of course that would mean Americans would have to pick their own apples, carrots, blueberries and potatoes at half minimum wage and clean their own office toilets so if that won't bring on the revolution nothing will.

Sorry but we have enough problems with Alcohol in this country we don't need another thing. (And alcohol in moderation can be good for the liver, the same can't be said about Crack).

Part of the problem is the Mexican Government has been very corrupt for so long that the Drug Lords amassed enormous amounts of power and they aren't just in the drug business anymore, they're in smuggling illegals across the border, prostitution (including child prostitution), and everything else under the sun.

It's really gratifying to know that no Americans are involved in and making buckets of money all that nasty business.

I'd say most of the problems with illegal drugs are because they are illegal. The criminality associated with it far outweighs the physical ill effects. It was the same way with alcohol prohibition.

And in all probability because there are billions of dollars at stake, they will stay illegal since a huge percentage of politicians find it very persuasive to receive electoral funding from whatever financial sources can keep them in power.
