:D by breaking the tinted windows.

Here in Greece they are trying to bring enlightenment by throwing cocktail Molotov, might be the right way after all.

I would like to see a massive leak here in Europe, but I doubt we will have one soon, not because of the level of security of our secret services but because typewriters are not email friendly :(

Your country is in debt for spending much more than it manufactured and made and you think that you can fix that by breaking government and private property and inflicting more costs on your government and more debt upon yourselves?

Sorry, can't get behind that.

First, Greece only produce olives and attracts tourists, it does not produce anything noticable. Then the political dynasties and their clique made secret deals with bankers and hide the real value of the debt with the complicity of the credit rating agencies. Then the crisis came and blow everything up. Sometimes the government needs a stronger message from who they are supposed to serve.
For the rest, well it is complex. Do people felt asleep and let politicians and special interest do whatever they wanted to? Sure. Is there a significant part of anarchists in Greece that just want to break stuff? Yes. Is the administration over sized and archaic? Yup. Were the strikes the most efficient way to change things? hummm no, for sure, no.
But it is a way to say "no more" without guns... European style.

Like everyone else. Besides if they overturn and establish a new government they can claim they owe nothing and try and support their population themselves.(unless of course for some crazy reason people would still trade with them, which is doubtful.)

They'll probably use this as an example of "cyber terrorism" and to further regulate the internet. Remember that Obama has an internet "kill switch"

It has nothing to do foreign terrorists and all to do with protecting this criminal government from dissent.

At one time Athens (and later Alexandria, a Hellenistic Greek City) were the brains capitols of the world. It might be a time for Greece to recapture its former glory.

Excluding the whole "source of info had to violate security clearances to do so" angle, I can't say I feel bad about the whole deal.

As I understand it, no information regarding active military readiness is being made public. It's more a compiling of the USA's dirty laundry that everyone knows is there, but the specifics were a mystery.

For a free society to remain free, government must be transparent and accountable. Is there a need for national secrets? YES. However, where to draw that line has been a challenge both militarily, politically, ethically, morally and legally. The more you let government keep secrets, the less "free" that nation becomes.

I don't see any of this making things worse. The bad guys would hate us either way, and unless it's brought to light, the pubic will never know what to call the government accountable for. However, that we find out stuff like this goes on does a lot to damage the reputation of the nation as a whole.

Despite being paid subsidies for large stretches of arable land which turned out to be rocks and rubble and mountain. Shame about the people, but certainly the Greek Government has been playing fast and loose with the truth for a while.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has denounced the release of classified diplomatic cables as an "attack on the international community".

Yes. By America. LOL

PFC Bradley Manning and Julian Assange should get the Nobel Peace Prize. They certainly deserve it more than that joker Obama.

Sadly, I have seen no trend or seed for a new enlightenment. It is always politics and business as usual in every mind, not understanding the causes, no clue for an exit and the bandits stealing and lying in plain sight.
Strangely I was looking the same revival of glory on your side, in the US, for a new era. I liked Ron Paul character in 08, I did not completely share his point of view, but his integrity was a bowl of fresh air. Anyway, I think you have more people that are more flexible in their mind.

This could potentially be paydirt:

"Julian Assange points upcoming megaleak: a major American bank will discover all its innermost workings exposed to the world."
