I didn't question your right to the guns, merely why you feel so threatened that you need them. Evidently what your father says has only relevance to your guns.

Guns are silly machinery, they won't protect you from criminals nor governments. Criminals have their own guns and can use them better. Governments have tanks. Be happy taking your advanced own-food-shooting devices with you everywhere. Other countries happen to have more useful measures of what makes a good country.

Explains why crime skyrocketted in Washington DC when they put a gun ban in place. It was cause the criminals knew people couldn't legally own guns.

Someone once tried to break into my Grandmother's house and they took off when she came out with a gun. She shot the heels off the guy's shoes as he was running away, he never showed up around her house again.

You also have the right to wear women's lace underpants, to tattoo green monkeys on your forehead, to keep a farm tractor in your living room, and to eat worms and grasshoppers. There are no Constitutional regulations against these things but you would do them for a reason, not because it is permitted. What is your reason for having guns?

ok well i dont know what is going on here. but clearly, I love protecting my home with a gun. like guns, and also love shooting guns. I'm not out for human target practice, (Although i have a few in mind) :wink: I'm just saying brah, WE as american citizens, have the right, legally, personally without government/state sponsership, to own a fire arm(s)

She died of cancer a while ago, though I seriously doubt a criminal organization would have wasted their time going after a little old lady.

I have a Desert Eagle, in fact I used to feature it prominently in my avatar. I'll agree that they're not exactly practical carry guns, though I have thrown mine in a vertical shoulder rig and toted it around concealed for the day to prove that I could to a coworker. The recoil is actually quite mild for the caliber, mine is in .44 magnum and kicks more like a hot .45 due to the weight of the gun and the recoil absorbing properties of the gas operation and massive slide. Aside from the size, the real drawbacks to carrying one are the funky safety and the ammo finickiness, the thing really demands hot +p+ FMJ rounds to function properly, and even then can jam if you limp wrist the thing. That, and a politically minded prosecutor would have a field day showing a jury your hand cannon if you ever had to use it, better to carry something similar to the local cops with the same load if possible, it's more lawyer proof that way.
