People can, of course, be born with a neurological impediment – it happens all the time. And they can surely be born with an impediment that, as it happens, can serve to present its possessor with a specific choice later in life: that between the homosexual and heterosexual mindsets and lifestyles. The neurological defect is, of course, not sin. Neither does it cause sin.
Rather, it serves to present such individuals with a decision as to whether they wish to give into their predilection, or to choose to resist it. One of those two options is forbidden by God, according to Romans 1:26.

And that is the hard-to-see way in which homosexuality and sin are connected.

(The easy-to-see way is when a person “turns gay” after a lifetime of genuine heterosexual disposition.)

Personally I don't buy into the original sin crap, so your neurological argument has gone for a Burton with me. Ones sexuality is a personal choice, respect a person's choice of sexuality approving of a person's sexuality is another issue. If you happen to profess to be a Christian then you would love the sinner & dislike the sin.

Find me ten people who woke up one day and made the choice to be one orientation versus another.

Find me all the fairies that dance on one pin head, as I wish to say hello to them.
After I say to the fairies than I'll asked your question.

Good. You agree such an assertion is silly.

Well, I woke up this morning with an odd hankering for a sheep.

But seriously, the only sin regarding gay people is commited by those who persecute them for doing nothing more than seeking happiness.

All the responses to this thread have pretty much covered all my opinions on the topic at hand.

However, there is still something I would like to say. As a gay individual who is very happy with his life, I see no reason at all why I should attempt to redirect my sexual inclinations just to appease a god that I don't believe in or people I likely will never meet or whose opinions really do not matter to me.

Incense and Peppermints topic

I like the lines in your signature from that 60's song by Strawberry Alarm Clock (band)

A real yardstick for lunatics! :P (sorry to interrupt here!)

I don't mean I want to kill conservative Christians. I just want to make them a bit more moderate (which will, of course, take a few generations to do). And if that doesn't work, I'd want to get rid of religion (or the conservative religion) altogether, not kill the religious. But that isn't going to happen, even if I wanted it to.

Thank you. I've recently developed a penchant for the 1960s, and that particular line from the song stood out to me.

"A yardstick for lunatics" is quite fitting for this thread. Thanks for bringing that up. :)

No one gives a flying f*ck what bigoted things your homophobic, sexist, genocidal, sadistic, jealous little diva god says about gay people.

As for "resisting" one's orientation, or neurology, you're off the deep end.

I think you are way out of line.

I'm not actually surprised by your foulness, however I am going to point out that liberals are supposed to be the tolerant ones (which as we both know is a falsehood).

 whatever, nobody cares what you think on this matter. I already know you consider homosexuality equivalent to a male dog asserting dominance over another male dog. That disqualifies you from any attempt at appearing tolerant. Badmouthing Bethie for her hatred of Ragtime's stupid, stupid intolerant views just makes you look like an idiot. And obviously it was conservatives fighting for equal rights all this time. Yep, that's exactly how history has gone down.
