I think some of you need to grow some balls, but then again maybe lack of balls is part of autism... I don't see anything wrong with the quote in the OP, in fact I found it rather interesting and possibly astute. Thanks for the link, will check it out.

Are you hearing voices or something?

The OP found a fundie thread that he felt was demeaning to autistics. But the OP posted it six years ago. Not surprisingly the site doesnt exist anymore.

What does "having balls", or not, have to do with the subject of this thread?

I mean that a few people seemed offended for nothing. What does hearing voices have to do with anything?

What you said seemed like such a far out nonsequitar that I looked to me like you were hallucinating text that wasnt there. Lol!

Sorry. Now I get what you're saying. A better expression to use would be "they should grow thicker skin"(not be so sensitive). Sumpin' like that. Not sure I dont agree.

To me it sounded like you were saying almost the opposite- "grow some balls" to egg them on: "dont take it lying down! Attack that website! Lynch 'em!". Am thinking WTF? The site's already defunct.

Anyway, I stopped at 'Spiritual Warfare' and could not read anymore. WTF? Any site that still mentions possessed children should be shunned.
If you would have read that part of the website, it never says that autism is the result of demonic possession. Their link on causes is not unusual for any site.

Look at the questions below: http://www.autism-in-the-christian-home ... ctive.html

Mneh ... pretty tame, as far as Christian fundie ignorance goes ...

the saddest part is how true this statement is :(

Not really, about the only things questionable is their claims about growing new brain cells and developing new neural pathways, and always using spanking. The first claim is not firmly established, and spanking does not work on all autistic kids even if they understand what they are doing is wrong.

spanking (for all kids) is associated with a higher risk of anger, anxiety, and becoming delinquent. adults who were spanked as kids are more likely to be obese, have cardiovascular disease, and have arthritis. spanking teaches by example that violence is an acceptable method of solving problems.

Why? Why? Why?.....are christians all grouped together.

I'd like to separate mormons from otter christians because I think if a LDS member were to try and write about autism, they'd be less rude.

Otter christians..?

Yes, they chew on the wood of the true cross.

Those are "beaver christians".
"Otter" christians are a different kind of aquatic mammal- the ones who eat the fish on the bumper stickers.

Okay, okay, got my Christian animals mixed up.

That's where we get holy milk from, and is the connection between the Christian west, and the holy Hindu cows of India.
