I am Dutch and would rate our system as good, even though privatisation is making it go more and more towards the American system. I think it's of vital importance that everyone should have access to good health care and think it is sad that, in countries where it is easily possible to give good health care to everyone, it is simply not provided or so expensive that the disease of one family member ruins the lives of all the others as well.

I think that's the worst part of it. In other countries, if a child gets cancer, of course it's awful but at least that's the sole burden. The family can focus on the one thing that matters most - the health of the child. Here, the worries are compounded by financial insecurity. They might have to sell their house, take another kid out of college, go into bankruptcy, etc. In our system, we just kick people when they're down.

Stay healthy and do not require an MRI diagnostic.

I'm not currently healthy (at least, in my heart...). I require yearly echocardiograms and I'm always the 'first served' when I head out there. When I required an MRI I got it in very little time and my life wasn't even immediately at risk.

I would suggest Americans "stay healthy" as they face many more problems than we do when it comes to unforeseeable medical bills

It's not Obamacare. It's ObamaCARES! What is wrong with socialized healthcare? NOTHING! Socialized government and market is a different story. But it should be your RIGHT to good medical care! Obamacare was a great step towards socialized healthcare. So people it means kids like me are still covered by my parents until i'm 26! What is wrong with that?! Stop watching Fox News and being the conservatives' puppets! They aren't out to help the average Joe they're out to hurt you and benefit the rich!

The moral of the story for ruveyn is don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house . We have something called triaging. IIRC from my health care course if you are classified as urgent, you will get an MRI in less than 3 weeks. In an emergency you will get one within 24 hours. Also radiology falls under the private sector of Canadian health care and you can go to a private clinic to get an MRI if you don't want to wait in line any longer so get your facts straight.

So are you against Universal Health Care? If so why? Also, do you agree with social security or medicare?

We knocked from good to fair just by passing a law that actually hasn't been implemented in any significant way yet? Any change you've seen, then, has nothing to do with the law itself.

Assuming that your parents have health insurance, that is.
But don't worry if they can't afford it, because Obama will force them to buy it anyway!
What a great help that will be.

Since I am forced (literally at gun point) to have it, you may bet I recover as much value as I can.

Hell I will just freaking survive myself then.....yeah I realise alcohol is not good for you but beer has calories and it makes you feel awesome I have relied on beer for my calories in the past. When I was 16 I had to spend 3 weeks with my dad and his side of the family and there was hardly any food but an excess of beer so I lived on beer, weed and a few ciggerattes for the most part for that 3 weeks.

And I felt good the whole time
