The whole Blackhawk Down thing happened in a similar fashion, and a Blackhawk is a much smaller and faster target than a Chinook. The only thing that keeps you from shooting a normal RPG or other shoulder launched rocket into the air is the back blast, and by redirecting it just a little with a curved tube it becomes possible. RPGs are still inaccurate, but they're also cheap and plentiful, so even if you have to launch tons of them to hit a chopper it's still worth the trade. Very typical of asymmetric warfare, using a weapon that costs maybe a few hundred dollars to take down a multi-million dollar aircraft and it's very expensive human cargo.

The fact that Perry won out is only remarkable with regard to how remarkable it is that so many Iowa republicans are comfortable straw-polling for a man who is obviously a closeted homosexual. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but he should let his pink flag fly.

A 50lb sack of steer manure would make a better candidate than any of the attendees at the iowa state fair.

Unfortunately the 50lb sack of steer manure's tent smelled of steer manure and was not hosting a concert by Mike Huckabee.

Good thing the Iowa straw poll's accuracy is not statistically significant.

Getting back to Newt winning, did anyone else see how he turned tables on the moderators not once, but twice. His ability to recall minute details off the cuff, his confident speaking style, etc. and the fact what he said actually appealed to a lot of Conservatives, puts his campaign back in business.

If it were between just Romney and Gingrich, it wouldn't even be a contest, Newt would mop the floor with Romney.

Based on Newt's performance, I like many other Conservatives would actually pay money to see Gingrich totally dismantle Obama and a left-wing moderator in a debate.


I watched the debate.

I thought Santorum performed really well, but he still has no chance. Newt definitely won.

Gingrich will be popular among conservatives, but i dont think moderate swing voters would find him likable.

The most ergregious example of hypocrisy was when Inuyasha complained about someone using a Wiki article to verify all the tabloid tactics of the UK's Sun Paper and , the next day, cited wikipedia in defining inflation.

Then we have the year journalism died in this country (2008) where the mainstream media actively collaborated with the Obama campaign to help get him elected. (google: Journ'O'list).

Hell we even have CBS reporters caught on an answering machine tape joking about trying to come up with a story that a Republican candidate was somehow tied to child molesters in 2010. They got caught on tape because they forgot to hang up the phone, so this answering machine recorded the whole thing.

You have another site that is tax-exempt declaring open war on Fox News, and doing everything they can to shut down Fox News. Referring to media matters, in 2011.

Now you expect me to be dumb enough to believe that Huffington Post, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, politico, BBC, reuters, AP, should be taken at their word?

No and neither should biased right wing sources. That's exactly where your double standard lies. Reuters is the most dishonest out of all the others, but that doesn't mean their actions represent the entire left wing media. Journalism in mainstream media never existed, period.

Sorry, but right now most right wing sources have a much better track record than the mainstream media.

Also, I get a lot of my news from Drudge Report.

Furthermore in reference to the debate, I actually watched the Republican Debate all the way through from start to finish, thank you kindly, I didn't just rely on listening to a bunch of analysts talking about it.

I wonder if Perry got the Colbert bump. I read that the Parry votes were thrown into the Perry totals. Just rumors though, nothing solid.

There certainly are Iranian made weapons in Afghanistan and Iraq. I don't think the constitute anything like a majority though. The majority of the weapons are leftovers from the previous wars, sourced from Pakistan or Khyber Pass knock-offs.
