Laughable.

You can't just blame Lebanon's troubles on independence. You can blame it far more on religious strife, and more correctly on religious extremism in general.

The religious strife isn't the only reason for Lebanon's troubles, the main reason of Lebanon's troubles is its incapability to defend itself from outsiders and their influence. We should have picked to merge with an outsider instead, the French would be the best choice.

Is this a parody of something? To say something to the effect of "Lebanon should of remained a French colony" isn't exactly like you. I don't think I would agree with that statement.

Nope, I am dead serious.

Guadeloupe and other overseas French territories are no more considered colonies, their statuses have changed to French citizens.

Since Lebanon's "Independence" Lebanon never been really independent per se, Palestinians, Israelis, Syrians ...all had their turns to rule it , and now it's Iran's.
Lebanon's problems stem from religious internicine conflict and their inability to work with each other.

Yes, being next to Israel has nothing to do with it.

Yes, I agree, I am not blaming Israel here.

But a small country wouldn't survive independently in this region, that's why Lebanon's troubles will never come to end.

Do you think Israel would have survived without all those US funds and military support it got?

First, if you didn't realize, I didn't rule out Israel when I said Internicene conflict. So please don't take a jab at me. Next, Lebanon can be important. You guys have just got to trust each other inside your own country, get a proper secular government and get some economic reforms going. Lebanon could be important even if it was small.

I do believe that many Metropolitan French weren't that keen on fully integrating Mayotte into the French state (it took place last year) due to fact that most of the population can't speak French and also because they are Muslims and rather backward.

By the by, the United States would not exist as a nation without the assistance of the French army.

Except I wasn't mocking anyone, I was pointing out that the militaries of other countries and military historians consider the French to be a joke.

What I said was the truth, and therefore your reaction is not logical.

so in upside down land calling something a joke is in no way mocking?
You told a joke about them.
I have no respect for any state or military but that is because I am intellectually honest.
More and more you sound like a Liberal pretending to be a Conservative.

Actually, it's only no one who you think their opinion matters. I on the other hand think military historians' opinions actually do matter.

Seriously, you're telling me that people that are actually in the military and/or people that are historians that specialize in military history are somehow inferior to you and their opinions don't matter....

Seriously, I think that they would have more knowledge on the subject than you.
