Church bans interracial couples
Hey, I'm from the sticks and really Appalachian.
They're free to do what they want...
...and I'm free to call them an embarrassment.

We don't have data on the rates of white-on-black rape in the antebellum south. If it happened it's unlikely the offspring entered society as whites. Mulattos were considered black by the one drop rule. The products of intermingling between blacks and whites were probably siphoned into the black population. Most blacks have white ancestry and that's probably where they got it from.

Of the hundreds of slaves he owned, Jefferson formally freed only two slaves in his lifetime: Sally's older brothers Robert, who had to buy his freedom, and James Hemings (who was required to train his brother to get his freedom). He freed five slaves in his will - all males from the Hemings family, including Madison and Eston Hemings, his two "natural" children. Harriet was the only female slave he allowed to go free. In addition to manumission for the Hemings men in his will, he petitioned the legislature to allow them to stay in the state. No documentation has been found for Sally Hemings' emancipation but Jefferson's married daughter Martha Randolph apparently gave Hemings her "time" after Jefferson's death. This informal freedom allowed her to live in Virginia, and she remained with her two youngest sons in nearby Charlottesville for the next nine years. In the Albemarle County 1833 census, all three were recorded as free white persons.
Sally Hemings was black per the one drop rule but her children weren't. Her children were 1/8 black.
Well, it appears this church has relented because the entire country aimed their hate high beams at them. Yay for public shaming!
But seriously, to the 25 members who didn't vote this crud down the first time:
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
And last but not least:
1 Chronicles 28:20
David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
