@ Dox47

I really couldn't care less when people quote Gingrich out of context, we've already seen that the media has an annoying habit of deliberately misquoting Republicans to paint them in the worst possible light...

The media misquoting Republicans to put them in the worst possible light?
So Newt Gingrich really didn't demonize poor children, and say that laws against child labor were stupid?
Michele Bachmann didn't really say the HPV vaccination caused mental retardation?
Donald Trump didn't really say that his investigators had found the dirt on Obama's birth certificate - days before the long form was released?
Rick Perry really didn't say the three departments he was going to abolish were "Education, Commerce,...and.... and...."
The truth is, nobody needs to misquote the Republicans in order to demonize them, as they tend to accomplish that themselves.

The first accuser originally claimed she didn't know Axelrod, when he lives in the same building as her and was once her lawyer.

Are you telling me she was stoned or something when he was her attorney?

Darling, the name "David Axelrod" is not uncommon. Look at the respective middle initials... and then look at what side he was on, and what side she was on.

Go ahead. Look at the actual information, rather than what you've been hand-fed. LOOK, damnit, before you stick your head up your ass in public yet again.

He wasn't demonizing poor children. Did you ever have an allowance where you made money for doing chores around the house?

Sure I did. And I'm sure that children of poor families often do, too, if money is available to their parents.
What Gingrich essentially said was that poor children have no work ethic, and that their only role models are making money illegally. This Republican portrayal of the poor says more about Republican ignorance and bigotry.

He's talking about the inner cities, which is often true. He's not talking about forcing the kids into these jobs, either. So what if a kid gets some extra money from mopping floors? He's not talking about anything that would be dangerous. He's not talking about them working really late at night either.

I quite frankly don't see the problem with what he was suggesting since kids aren't going to be forced to apply for the job.

Not directly. But what happens when mommy and daddy can't afford the rent, or groceries, etc? Guess what, if little Billy can work, either his parents will probably urge him to do so in order to help out with expenses, or he will feel obligated to do so because he is a part of the family, will feel guilted into doing so. I'm sorry, but kids that young need to be focusing on school, not mopping floors. It would be all too easy for these kids to get into the habit of working low-end jobs in order to help support their families, meanwhile neglecting their education and the possibility of a better future for themselves.

On this point, Gingrich wants to fire school janitors in order to have poor kids do the work. All this would accomplish is increasing unemployment.
Plus, he deliberately said, "fire the union janitors." I think it's pretty low when you have to use children in order to attack the only means of workers to have their needs and wants represented.

Should a school janitor be making a 6 figure salary?

Why not? They can buy a lot of expensive things, and keep the economy chugging along.

It matters when Janitors in the private sector do not make that kind of money (and for good reason cause the business in question would go broke).

So $787,000 a year for a city manager is a perfectly reasonable salary?

Darling, Bell isn't exactly a good example of salaries for any public employees; many of them are being sent to prison for fraud. You can't choose the most corrupt possible version and claim that they're all that bad.

Do you have any evidence, btw, that school janitors actually make six figures?

A friend of mine is a school janitor and he makes probably ~35,000-40,000 a year (Canadian)
