joerg haider is a big fan of hitler. are you aware he strongly supported saddam hussein, claiming that the iraqi invasion is a conspiracy between the us and zionists?

True, but you don't want to "throw out the baby with the dirty bathwater"

Cambodia probably became two societies, the haves and have not's and the peasants got sick of it. This country is headed the same way, people living the good life in gated communities and the rest of the people slaving away for peanuts while the wealthy roll into their so called jobs around 9am with a $4.00 cup of coffee and crack the whip for a few hours and are gone by 4pm.

What does rightwing mean anyway.

Rightwing simply means to the right of the political spectrum. It is just a part of the view that there are 2 sides to this, the rightwing and the leftwing with the latter being the progressives or even further left being the socialists.

*laughs at some of the ridiculous statements in this thread*

And you people claim that Liberals are whiney. I guess the opinion of you people is that if you're shouting your stupid nonsense, that it's somehow not.

So you know what, keep up with the shouting at everything that bothers you and have a total disconnect from what it does. Mindlessly reacting with no clue where things are going. But it's all okay that you don't have a direction, because you know things are 'wrong'. So anything different is going to magically be right.

You misunderstand me. Muslims are responsible in the same way that Gemans are responsible for ebmracing Hitler. (The Germans even have a book warning about such behavior called "Faust")

All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

America can't possiblt defeat terrorisim alone. It requires muslims to reject radical Islam and take action against terrorists. At the bare minumum, exposing who they are and where they are.

American foriegn policy (and to a lesser degree UK) does more to promote terrorism than anything else.

I think people like us are natural conservatives. We hate irritants, impediments, and we like efficiency. These are all conservative/libertarian qualities. We hate being bugged, and told what to do with our money, bodies, etc... We value few things over our individuality, and hate the idea of people imposing conformity on us through political means. We just want to be left alone... Anyone agree?

I'm probably more conservative than not, but my views do tend to differ off the political norm. In the threads from this forum that I used to post in, most of the members and regular posters were liberal, with a few moderates and conservatives mixed into the bunch.

Hmmn...

I highly value my individuality, and the ability to do what I want to do, but the important part for me is being able to share this with society in one way or another..

It is those that refuse to simply follow that further the progression of mankind.

Though I may fail, I will try everything I can to do what I can..

Some of us simply want to live, and get by, some of us need to affect, for the very same reason..

Left... Right... Just be you and find a way to work it into the whole, whether through a medium, through a group, or simply by not causing trouble for anyone else.

No, it would be ironic if he was saying Conservatives Unite and embrace social change, and respect people's differences.

We believe in respecting differences.

What we don't believe in is unconditional acceptance.

Because sometimes, we're just... plain... better.

I see nothing wrong with proclaiming myself morally and mentally superior to anyone who considers women (or on the other hand, gays) to be a lower form of life, for example.

I also don't believe allowances should be made for the muslims because it's their culture... their culture, for example involves the subjugation of women, which makes it of lesser value than mine. I believe that any muslim cleric who says it's ok to kill gays, should be shot. I believe any muslim cleric who says it's ok for women to be beaten, should be beaten daily until he decides that it damn well isn't ok.

And I believe that anyone from the west who sides with the terrorists is suffering from cognative dissonance. I can see wholesale condemnation of the Bush Administration as reasonable, though I don't agree with it - but to say Bush is "no better" than the terrorists is morally reprehensible.

I don't side with either... Both are quite similar in many ways
