Raptor is a hardcore Conservative from what I've seen, one of those types that prefers to ignore reality and instead would rather focus on trying to implement concepts that don't work.

What was the source of the quote in the OP?

Well I didn’t say “hate” but now that you’ve gone there so be it.
I find it rather hypocritical that we hear all this screeching from the left about hate speech and howling for the passage of hate crime legislation yet you hate someone for having an opinion that is differs from yours. I guess you just redefine hate to suit your needs, eh?

Well I’m not really a hard a core conservative but thanks for the compliment just the same.
And you’ve got it kinda backwards; conservatives acknowledge reality but refuse to give credit to concepts that don’t work in reality.

Don't you support trickle down economics? Which don't work, never have and never will?

That would give credence to the hypothesis that conservatives are delusional

Yup, the electoral college is one thing that desperately has got to be fixed.. a good way to do that would be for states not to be 'Winner-take-all' which is grossly unfair to their citizens. Idealy I'd prefer to just get rid of it..

I also think it should be a mandatory minimum requirement to be a politician that you have to have a Masters Degree in an applicable field.. no more Pizza chain kings, podunk mayors, or real estate agents running for President.. treat it as you would any other high profile, high stress management position. Just try and get elected president of a company without an MBA...

Nonsense. Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, and that's just off the top of my head for guys that don't have any college degree let alone a masters.

Saying you need a masters or equivalent is a ridiculous elitist position to hold for somebody that probably harps about inequality.

I'm actually Third Way*. I'm neither left, nor right. Some of my social views would probably scare the pants off of you.

Damn right. I don't want people who aren't smart running things. Those men are FLUKES, they are not the norm.

We must remember that our current Constitution was already a "redo" from the original Articles of Confederation, and for the time, our Constitution was the state of the art in political science, incorporating ideas from influential Enlightenment thinkers like Montesquieu (separation of powers), Rousseau (popular sovereignty), Voltaire (individual liberties), and John Locke (again, individual liberties). It incorporated a few grievances from around the Revolutionary War (quartering of British troops in Boston, for example). Still, hindsight is 20:20, and I'd add a stronger separation of church and state, a right to privacy, and various "positive liberties."

Intelligence ≠ getting degrees

I'm hoping you meant 'Third Way' instead of 'Third Position'. Third Position is another term for fascism. If not then there isn't much use arguing with you, all I got to say is follow your leader.

Big Government = Liberal
Nanny state = Liberal
That's about all I need to see to close the case..........

You're right. Third Way.. I don't fit comfortably on the left/right paradigm. But I'm not a Fascist.. they are just Corporatist with fancy clothes.. I don't really like labels.. the closest I'd get to an American Political Party that I identify with is Theodore Roosevelt's 1912 Bull Moose party.

It works for companies, not for the people... leading to Third World conditions.

Constitutional review is something every country should go through every few decades at least. The US has on occasion tried to play as if its the newest, best thing around, but the proof is in the age of the document and the waning interest in people utilizing it as a framework. Unfortunately I think many Americans are too proud of the original nature of the constitution and have failed to see how it has aged compared to later documents. Documents can say a lot of things though but their application in practice is what matters. Plenty of countries probably have "better" constitutions than America but whether they actually work out this way is the question (the USSR constitution seems very admirable for example with many grandiose guarantees... that may or may not have been kept). I think the US should be more open to constitutional review as it is probably one of the few Western countries who are so against it

Yup. The issue is in human nature.

The majority of the companies will not make use of the extra money to hire more people unless they have some urgent requirement for them (cutting taxes can end a recession for example, or save a company from going bankrupt). Most of the time, the few people at the top get a bigger salary and you get nothing more... except higher taxes to make up for the money the corporations are no longer providing. Trickle down economics don't trickle down, they make the rich richer without making the poor and middle class (which is shrinking by the way) any better off. This makes them a failure as a long term idea, or even a broad idea.
