Atheism is a religion in the same way that bald is a hair colour.

Not really. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are three different religions with three very different gods.

Yahweh: The god of Judaism never had a son called Jesus or a prophet called Mohammed. What he does have is a loyal servant called Satan, whose job is to tempt humans and test their faith (as he does in the book of Job).

Trinity god: The Christian 3-in-1 god is a blend of a demigod called Jesus, an alternate universe version of Yahweh who kicked Satan out of heaven, and something called the holy spirit. Satan plays the role of an underworld deity / supervillain in the Christian pantheon, a mixture of the Greek Hades and the Norse Surtr who is supposed to intitiate Ragnarök, with a dash of Prometheus and Lex Luthor.

Allah: The god of Islam, another alternate universe version of Yahweh, never had a son either. He had a prophet called Jesus, but Muslims believe that Jesus was superseded by Mohammed. Satan (Shaitan, Iblis) is a fallen angel / underworld demon in the Muslim mythology as well, but for different reasons than in the Christian mythology (he didn't revolt against Yahweh but instead refused to prostrate himself before Adam).

To complicate things further, all three Abrahamic religions are divided into different denominations and splinter groups, which again worship slightly different gods. For example, some Christian sects believe in a god who condemns homosexuality, whereas other versions of the Christian trinity god don't have much of a problem with gays and lesbians. Some Christian gods hold men superior to women, whereas other Christian gods believe in gender equality, and so on. Which means that the Abrahamic god either suffers from dissociative identity disorder, or he is a few hundred different deities that are worshipped by people with very different beliefs.

I didn't mean to over simplify the situation. It is true that they have very different beliefs about god, and what to call him. My point is that they all branched off from the same tree, so to speak.

Yes all three come from the same tree its pretty much all the same story told from a diffrent view point.
