It is interesting that this text, with its anti-Roman tone, ended up in the Bible. The Gospels are bending over backwards to excuse the Romans and blame the Jews for crucifying Jesus. Now, this text is predicting terrible things specifically for Rome. I would have thought that, when Christianity became Rome's official religion, the emperor might have suggested taking this out, as being less than flattering to say the least.

The Septuigent or LXX a Greek translation of the TNKH done by Jews making TNKH to the Greek speaking Jewish community of Alexandria. These Jews were assemilated into the Greek speaking world and had lost a lot of the Hebrew of their forefathers along with a first hand knowledge of the ancient customs. The situation is very analogous to that of American Jews.

Yes they did. Which is why the later Protestant reformers considered the Greek and Hebrew texts to be more reliable than their Latin counterparts.
