None of which is relevant to the central point:
Lance Armstrong knew the rules of the competition, and on the balance of probabilities, it is reasonable to conclude that he knowingly broke those rules.
Maybe the rules are bad--I don't think so, but that's open to debate. But they were the rules nonetheless.
Maybe everyone else was breaking the rules, too. They probably were--but that does not excuse any of them.
International cycling is at a level of corruption that would make Boss Tweed weep.
