I don't get why American politics is so racialized. I mean, I've never heard the phrase "white leftists" used to describe factions within the NDP yet "white liberals" are routinely used as a category in American politics (yet "black liberals" are seldom mentioned).
By the way, it seems that many racial minorities (particularly African-Americans) are getting more socially progressive on gay rights issues since Obama took office.
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_ ... bias_.htmlLast weekend at Valleyfest here in Spokane Valley, WA., when I was going about asking people to sign pledges in support of Referendum 72 (upholding the legislature's vote to legalize gay rights), I found more black people were willing to sign in support than were whites. Especially if they were in interracial relationships.
(In an unrelated topic, as an Aspie, I was scared s**tless at first, walking up to strangers and explaining to them why they ought to sign the pledge. It actually got better when even people who disagreed were pretty cool about it.)

yes, there are cultural differneces; integration gradually decreases that, however, and so does being in power. It's a different thing to actually be in control than it is to criticize those in power, and those who come into control tend to converge towards a mean regardless of their origin.
What about the Mexicanos? Do you people not effing realize that gay rights is only
one issue and does NOT disprove my claim that despite political agreement, liberal whites, blacks, and latinos have cultural differences? In the case of California, LATINOS OUTNUMBER BLACKS AND THEIR POPULATION IS INCREASING WHILE THE BLACK POPULATION IS DECREASING!
