Well your preoccupation with a few people being killed is unwarranted and racist at best. If France lived in this neighborhood, it would react in the exact same way as Israel, and we would not have any right to challenge them, considering the primitives that surround them. You shouldn't wait for yourself to have a problem to then be able to sympathize with others who are in that situation. Germany would behave exactly the same way, so would any scandinavian country who had to border Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and have in its territory the West Bank and Gaza.

Square This For Me
You fear the Christian Right in America, and when one of your own -- whose done more for, or is on equal par with Europe, on Gay rights, Womens rights, Animal rights, a liberal press, an activist judiciary, and a democratic state -- comes under attack by folks who make the Christian Right in America look like boyscouts, where are you? Either you believe in those things, or every criticism you have against the Christian Right is meaningless. What does it mean that the far right in America is sexist, when the pioneers of feminism and most of your left-wing causes are viewed by your type as Nazi's, and their sexist bigoted enemies you identify with?

What amazes me is how the right wing suddenly discovers a love for racial equality whenever it is privileged groups that are at stake. Where is the American right to be found on matters relating to ethnic poverty and disproportionate prison populations of black and latino prisoners? Where is the American right to be found on gay equality? Where is the American right to be found on American women's equal pay and bodilly autonomy? You are fast to criticise other nations lack of progress yet make no noises on your own back yards. Quite the contrary. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

You really don't understand the point, do you.

It isn't a matter of where i would rather live. Its the semantics of how Israel that was established that sticks in my throat.

Another thing which the Pro Israel lobby seem to forget is that the Israel-Palestine region is a potential tinderbox that can ignite a wider conflict. Israel is going the right way about setting off a second domino effect of revolutions across the arab world, and its going to have a lot more on its plate than Gaza and Iran to worry about. Even the UN is getting bored of their s**t and is starting to make a point.

It works in Israel's favor. With the region destabilized, they can own it like they want.

If the governments of muslim countries that are lackeys to the west and Israel are usurped, the people of these countries might work out their common enemy and unite against them. That wouldn't be good for Israel, or the west.

It wouldnt be in Israel's interest for say, Syria to have a Iranian style Islamic revolution.

The Islamic countries of the Middle East are much more interested in waging war against each other than against Israel. They may talk tough against Israel, but their actions are focused inward.

I know, my point is that a 'second arab spring' might change that.

An Israeli ground invasion will provoke just that, and even UN speculators are fearful of it.

Why not? Such regimes lack stability, and that is their issue. The rest of the Western world would not like/take such a regime seriously, as is the case with Iran. It'd also give Israel another excuse to arm up more, and give another enemy. It'd justify their military power, and even would justify giving a chance to invade Syria, as afterall, they're threatening Israel's existence, right? That'd be perfect for Israel. And the facts are, Israel is perfectly capable of taking the Middle East if it wants, just it'd be politically damaging if they did so. We know this because in the 60s Israel took the Suez Canal from Egypt. Have you seen their 1960s borders? And remember, too, that war was with multiple Arab countries. This has already happened, what you described. They want their Biblical mandate, they want the whole Middle East.

Lastly, remember with Iran, after said Islamic revolution happened, we had our trusted friend and ally, Saddam Hussein, invade Iran.

Yay international games.

Arab Springs so far haven't exactly threatened Israel. If Egypt decides to declare war on Israel it will be a very quick and very bloody display of superior Israeli military force. Syria is basically powerless due to the ongoing civil war, and Jordan chose the wise route decades ago by minding its own business...

Israel is not going to give the West Bank to Jordan, period. It's due to the fact they would put themselves in a situation where it is next to impossible to defend themselves.

Also they gave the Sinai (sp?) back to Egypt already, quite frankly I see no reason why they should give Egypt (especially with the current leadership), an even better position to attack Israel.

You haven't dealt with anything I've said in a meaningful way.

The Point Is Simple:
You have absolutely no justification for your overwhelming preoccupation with the issue. None. Why does the establishment of Israel trouble you? What nation wasn't born in bloodshed? Where are the protests against the right of Pakistan to exist? Do you know of the millions of cadavers that were sent back and forth between Indian and Pakistan from the creation of those two states? I've never heard: "Gee, I have absolutely nothing against the people, but I have no idea why Panama has a right to exist!" We wanted a canal, so we stole it from Colombia. I don't charge America as being Imperialistic in the traditional sense, but that was pure chauvinism... where are you on your protesting Panama's right to exist? If it's lives lost, people being displaced, there's a dozen other examples on earth, right now, that better qualify then Israel-Palestine.

You won't let the issue go because you hate the Right more then you hate Evil. America is the greatest representation of the Right in your eyes, and if America supports it, you must therefore condemn it?

You Would Choose Israel
Either America is racist, sexist, and bigoted, or, they are just lines to throw away in vain to win political points. Most of humanity has often voted with their feet, liberals like to live with liberals, hispanics like to live with hispanics, and muslims like to live with muslims, and if you truly believe in all of the left wing rhetoric you like to push, and acknowledge backwaters that Israel's neighbors reside in, the choice would be uncontested, and you would pick Israel.

The United Nations Is Immoral
The United Nations is more preoccupied with Israel then any other nation on Earth. Even the United States does not have as many mentions in the assembly as this tiny country of 7 million people. They are libeled as being the greatest human rights violator's in the world, the greatest impediment to womens rights, and have nothing but bigoted hate fueled leaders and regimes denouncing Israel's right to exist. The UN isn't a moral barometer of anything. Look they elect to lead human rights councils. Their track record of fighting the great evils of our day is as abysmal as the collective whole of humanity's track record in standing up to cruel regimes. You shouldn't blame Israel for the primitive ways of its neighbors.

Dennis Prager can better articulate the Middle East Problem in a nutshell.

Sinai was given back to Egypt for peace. I don't think Jordan would want the West Bank back, its a toxic hellhole and a political liability requiring nothing short of a military surge, many executions, and reeducation camps to detoxify the palestinian mind.

I watched the Prager video (gotta love the Star Trek reference.)

It made me wonder where all this hatred is coming from (on both sides.) These two peoples really do seem to loathe each other. I guess the Arabs hate the Israelis because they, in the last century, were artificially implanted in this region . . . and I guess the Israelis hate the Arabs because they were far less then welcoming. And then blood has been spilled on both sides since then. Is there a solution to this? Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a decisive victory is needed by one side. The way it is now is not working.

Uh... yeah. Okay. Cause forced "reeducation" and mass murder have accomplished so much good in the past....

The arabs in the region hated the Jews who lived there long before the modern state of Israel was even created.

But why? Where is this hatred coming from?

This is my idea: we build a massive marijuana bomb and hit the entire middle east with it. It would be designed so the effects would last at least a year. In this time, perhaps both sides will realize that these old hatreds are unproductive.

Read up on Islam.
