Connecticut town to hold violent video game return program

I hope what happens in Connecticut stays in Connecticut. If it spreads to here in Hagerstown...

I will not allow anyone to touch my games! They can get rid of all the violent media they want, but it won't solve anything. It's only treating the symptoms. Besides, with all the violent media gone, pop culture will be as bland and boring as B&W TV unless the swearing, toilet humor, and sexual stuff is kept intact. We are all entitled to our own preferences. They can't force us prefer what they see fit. I'd rather run away than to conform to something like that against what I really like. I like certain kinds of violent media. If they have to take that away from me and force me to like something else, what is that called? Suppression? I refuse to be suppressed against the things I like.

Someone should turn in the original version of Splatterhouse, a game Wayne Lapierre referenced as violent during his speech. It was made around the early 1990's for the Turbo-Grafx 16 system The PS3/XBOX version is a remake, but the story outline and play is different.

For video games, you could have said Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Night Trap, and Contra (you know how many projectiles fly and things get shot in that game?). In Contra you just hold down the Fire button and spray at will, that seems to be more dangerous and on a more significant level. It was to your advantage to get the gun that fired the most bullets, who wouldn't want the Speader?

This situation has gotten way out of hand what the hell is wrong with people?!

*SIGHS, puts gun to his own head, pulls the trigger*

Collect the video games.... not guns.

It's the violent American culture that's the problem, not the video games or the guns. They're both just objects. Video games are completely harmless - it's only a few idiots who are damaged anyway that would be 'inspired' by them. Books, videos, penny dreadfuls and all the rest have had much the same effect at one time or another. Hell, even talking to other people has an effect on many people.

There are many wonderful (and sometimes deeply challenging) black and white films out there, and a lot of pretty awful and anodyne movies in colour.

I guess your either saying keep the games and ditch the guns or ditch both.

Well, I have violent games and even more guns and I'm keeping both.

Agreed, people don't seem to realize that for some reason. Maybe they're just in uber denial and don't want to think they have any identifiable similarities with the psychos, even though they already do and display exactly that every day by hunting those of us with an ASD down and beating us on the street.

They're alot more psycho than any of us, that's for sure.
