Sure, conservatives should be more like this.

Those guys really touched me. I'm gonna avoid eating salads for a while and will move to steaks and burguers. I'd feel guilty hurting plants.

By the way, with regard to the main topic, I don't dislike conservative, as long as they're not fundamentalists.

And I think they're some good points in the left economic theory from the utilitarian point of view. The main poblem with the left is that it's full of liberals, and it's kind of difficult to get anything that makes some sense from them...

I think the meaning of conservative in an political oppinion, is a wrong use of the words. So I had more problems in life with conservative people, because of them having more problems with acceptings things, people and behavings, that are outside of the norm. But that isnt related automatic to political oppinions. So there are rather conservative socialists, as there are rather conservative, rightwingers, as there are rather conservative conservatives ... Voting conservative party must not mean "being" conservative in the way of thoughts.

Well spoken. Conservative politics used to have a full sprectrum of ideology, with the common ground being "fiscal" conservatism. It has been co-opted in more recent times to mean "morally" conservative and "size of government" conservative (which I don't understand since most political "conservatives" these days demand an ever-increasing military might).

Labelling people as liberal or conservative just seems like an exclusion of the majority of the population who fall somewhere in between.

The impression I have gotten reading this sub-forum would suggest the answer to this question is yes. Of course presuming that the active membership basis of the wrong planet forum is representative for people on the spectrum.

It where liberals that reduced things to the sphere of economics. Unless you want to call classical/economic liberals conservative.

Judging by the long standing pattern of intellectual abuse (aka "winning") perpetrated against the conservative members of this sub section, I would say they aren't too popular with aspies.

Posting on this forum for some years now, I don't believe that there is any real difference between people on the spectrum and aren't when it comes to politics. PPR is an interesting board since it's so diverse, a lot of people come and go.

Conservatives seemingly have taken up the role of the bullying the little guy who I identify with the most.

The last major party candidate I voted for was Barry Goldwater. Ever since he was slandered and demonized by the Democrats, and the Republicans went south I have not voted for another major party candidate. In the 1960 election I voted for JFK because I wanted to put a stake through the heart of the anti-Catholic nonsense.

Was that the only reason for your vote for Kennedy?

I doubt there's any political bias amongst spergs, left or right, that stands out from the general intelligent populace. Although I do my bit in swinging us leftwards.
