This man is his hero!um no, he's not. Do you have any knowledge or understanding of historical semantics or do you just enjoy spamming the forum with trite and unsubstantiated ad hominem and slander?

i havent watched it yet but since its been cherrypicked by aspieotaku im sure its in no way full of bias or selective history [/sarcasm]
okay, i got as far 1920 something and i just switched off "The british created west Palestine for the Jews to live in"-
Yeah, this is already ignoring that arabs had, (and were at the time), co-habited the land centuries beforehand.
Lie 2- 720 thousand arabs were encouraged to leave by their leaders. Um no, they were forced off of their lands by Zionist militiamen.
Lie 3- 600 000 thousand jews sought refuge in Israel from arab persection. Um no. They'd been living fine in other lands for centuries till now. They went to Israel to (coupled with the flight of arabs during the nakba) create an artificially enforced majority and undermine the arabs case for self determination. In Ireland the British did something similar, it was called 'Gerrymandering'.
I could probably tweese more lies out of this festering pile of feral dog excrement if i could be bothered which i can't. It will take a lot more than a badly rendered slideshow made in windows movie maker of choice pictures from google images to convince me.

Irrelevant.
It was irrelevant the fifth time that Tequila posted it, and it hasn't stopped being irrelevant since.
Oh darn I figured it would work since you hate Jews and all.

I recommend this book:
Double Bind: The Muslim Right, the Anglo-American Left, and Universal Human Rights
In it, the author (who is a left-wing feminist) takes the view that the Anglo-American left has thrown itself in with some quite horrible religious fascists (the Muslim far-right) in an effort to seem progressive and, in doing so, has utterly abandoned and vilified its genuine left-wing counterparts fighting for freedom, secularism and democracy in many Muslim countries. She is not a fan of the EDL or the anti-Islam right, but she puts the case forward that it's quite possible to be against certain American and British foreign policies without turning into a West-hating lover of religious totalitarians.
With thomas81, it's all or nothing thinking and it's utterly destructive.
Disliking hardline unionism in Northern Ireland doesn't mean that you throw your hat into the ring with extremist physical force republicans and hate all things British/Unionist.
Disliking certain aspects of Israeli policy (the control of Judea and Samaria is in itself a controversial subject in Israel proper, with many Zionists wanting to eventually leave the West Bank) doesn't mean you start defending awful genocidal, racist Islamist terrorists.
Disliking elements of the Tories doesn't mean you lurch to the extreme far-left.
Moderation is the key. Political views are often nuanced. I've met left-wingers that I've agreed with on some things but strongly disagreed with on others. I've met right-wingers that I've agreed with on some things and disagreed with on others. I've met all kinds of people that I've disagreed with.
He has an extreme black and white view of the world promoted by ideology. I'm happy to have an open opinion on some things. I'm still thinking about whether we should keep the BBC, abolish it altogether or keep some parts of it for example. I'm also in several minds about NHS reform and all sorts of things.
It promotes hatred and war and enmity and more people's misery.
It's great that you can promote that kind of division from another continent but miserable if you actually have to live and breathe that every single day.
And of course, the Israel-'Palestine' conflict is actually pretty marginal compared to the unimaginable horrors carried out all around the Middle East at this very moment.
I would love to see a genuine solution to this conflict that all sides are happy with. Unfortunately, I have very little hope for the future, having considered the past. If anything is to change, Palestinian society in general is going to have to undergo an unbelievable sea change in order for this to happen. There is more than enough space for both sets of people to have their own state. The Arabs and Palestinians have to accept basically what they have rejected since the 1930s, and that is the fact that Jews are not dhimmis in the Middle East, but are equal citizens in that part of the world. This (unfortunately) goes back to Islam and Muhammad, which is why I have so little hope.
Interestingly, I actually found an article, written by Efraim Karsh. What he said actually surprised me greatly. He paints most pre-1948 Mandatory Arabs in a very positive light and says that most Arabs did not want to fight and didn't have a problem with the emerging State of Israel but were whipped up into a frenzy by powerful Arab political figures of the time.
Sixty years after its establishment by an internationally recognized act of self-determination, Israel remains the only state in the world that is subjected to a constant outpouring of the most outlandish conspiracy theories and blood libels; whose policies and actions are obsessively condemned by the international community; and whose right to exist is constantly debated and challenged not only by its Arab enemies but by segments of advanced opinion in the West.
During the past decade or so, the actual elimination of the Jewish state has become a cause célèbre among many of these educated Westerners. The “one-state solution,” as it is called, is a euphemistic formula proposing the replacement of Israel by a state, theoretically comprising the whole of historic Palestine, in which Jews will be reduced to the status of a permanent minority. Only this, it is said, can expiate the “original sin” of Israel’s founding, an act built (in the words of one critic) “on the ruins of Arab Palestine” and achieved through the deliberate and aggressive dispossession of its native population.
This claim of premeditated dispossession and the consequent creation of the longstanding Palestinian “refugee problem” forms, indeed, the central plank in the bill of particulars pressed by Israel’s alleged victims and their Western supporters. It is a charge that has hardly gone undisputed. As early as the mid-1950’s, the eminent American historian J.C. Hurewitz undertook a systematic refutation,[1] and his findings were abundantly confirmed by later generations of scholars and writers. Even Benny Morris, the most influential of Israel’s revisionist “new historians,” and one who went out of his way to establish the case for Israel’s “original sin,” grudgingly stipulated that there was no “design” to displace the Palestinian Arabs.

You're fecking serious?!
Your ideology is so important to you that it blinds you to unbelievable horrors, even when they are right in front of your face.
You are disgusting. There's no other word for it unfortunately. This is what Hamas teach their children.
I hope that you are a nicer person in real life than you are on here.

its irrelevant because its attempting to substitute the Israel-Palestine debate for a broader anti-Islam narrative which is unhelpful in understanding the real semantics of what is going on there. Increasingly, there is a broader, secular, socialist antifada which is ignored because of all the anti islam stuff.
For myself I see it as more of a legacy from the 60's counterculture. There was a time when the Red Army Faction would train next to the PLA. A whole range of movements solicited Soviet funding and there was a 'revolutionaries of the world unite' trend. Obviously it was all bunk which becomes pretty clear when you go and read how the Bader-Meinhof chaps go on when they were training with the Palestinians. Seems like Tom is a product of that attitude when blinkering yourself to the reality of the people you are standing next to was all well and good if you're trying to make a point. It how he ends up defending North Korea one day and Hamas the next.
Of course, I protested the Iraq War and have also served in the Australian Army. They are not mutually exclusive. People who blur the two usually have a purpose and anybody who stands alongside Hamas to make a point about Israel needs their head checked.
Yep but I have certainly met worse.
Maybe. I actually have a feeling that all the Palestinians need are some pretty brave leaders with the balls to sign an agreement. No doubt whoever does will be killed by the fanatical elements but Arafat could have signed the deal... he knew if he did he would be killed. That man was no Michael Collins. Now there are two parties to negotiate with, so things are worse.

You could argue about who killed more, and who was there first, and who has God on their side forever and get no further on.
Fact is they hate each other, I lived there with Israelis for almost a year, they were good people (a bit arrogant, but no-one's perfect) that is; they were great until you mentioned Palestinians, then a red mist came down and absolute hatred poured out. The Israelis have dehumanised the Palestinians in the way the Jews were dehumanised by the Nazis, makes it easier to commit atrocities.
The Palestinians I met were friendlier, but likely just hid the hatred from me in fear of reprisals, as they have plenty to be pissed about.
How can it be right to ration water in one village to a couple of hours each day in which families must fill buckets to last until tomorrow, while in the neighbouring settlement the sprinklers water the lawns and there are no limitations whatsoever? Restrictions imposed by the Israeli government are plainly racist. Israelis have military service, both male and female, totally brainwashed, then allowed to keep the guns. Palestinians aren't even considered second class citizens, they are barely considered human.
To create a majority by ethnic cleansing and then have majority rule is nothing like democracy, but who needs democracy when you have God on your side.
Really they need an impartial body making the decisions (that was impartial, not American or Arab) but both sides have allies more powerful than any impartial body, so it can't happen right now.
