Why Does Majority Make Things Ok?
Representative democracy is the worst political system, except for all the others.
Firstly, your assertion that nobody else has ever considered the tyranny of the majority is very inaccurate.
Micro-nations generally still operate on democratic grounds.
How on Earth would "purchasing Government protection" work? I presume you are proposing a free market?
Essentially, our current Governments work by providing a check to the free market, and providing services to people who otherwise could not afford them. Many people cannot afford to send their children to school, for example, and only government subsidies make it possible (and even then, additional costs are beyond a lot of people).
You are welcome to set up your own "Government" if you wish, as long as your government does not break criminal law in your country. If your fire department becomes so popular that the public one falls into disuse, the government will spend less on fire departments- see also health, education, police... probably not prisons or border forces. The reduction in spending will either lead to improvements in other services or a reduction in tax.
If you find a majority of your fellow "citizens" insufferable, then you'll need to pack up and move in any system.
Others are entitled to stop your murdering, raping, and stealing because otherwise they would not be able to live their lives.

Actually I kinda advocate that (not sure about fire protection, but regardless). I think things like bitcoins and such will lead the way into a brighter tomorrow. I understand they are based on democratic principles.
As for the exact system, I am actually pretty open about it. Perhaps it could be more in line with mutualist lines of thinking , More Tuckerite, or perhaps anarcho capitalism or panarchism. I seriously don't know which of these would be better, but basically as long as it is not coercive, it does not matter the system. Heck, I may even "purchase" or however it would be set up from a socialist government. Basically all I am saying is that we need to move past the nation state, but we mustn't replace it with an even bigger authority. I guess why can't we lay politics to rest as if it were a dead man and pursue our natural interests. For instance, if me an a lady friend want to engage in sexual acts for money, it should be our business. Or if me and a poor individual agree to him working in my factory for one cent an hour, what should stop me or him or her? Or if I want to drink arsenic voluntarily, why should anything stop me? Now some of those are cruel and unusual, but I would argue that the cruel and unusual need a heart change, not a fine or jail time. Another thing, why not let nature just take it's course? It seems like it gets screwed up when we try to mess with it.
Majorities cannot make anything OK, i.e. right or wrong.
What they DO is make it LEGAL/ILLEGAL.
Actually, in your state, until Lincoln came along, the majority of the people were slaves. If they had been able to vote, then slavery might have ended sooner. Majority rule was not something that the minority would have countenanced.

Unfortunately. I just find it funny that people never question whether majoritarianism is moral
Its preferable to the alternative.

I like it.
Actually, there's something I'd like better: Every nation is allowed to purchase real property from others and open franchises. As a side benefit, they'd replace foreign embassies. If you think you'd like living somewhere overseas but you're somehow prohibited from moving to that actual location, earn citizenship at the nearest franchise. If you like Chinese labor and economic policies better than American policies, just move to the nearest Neo-Beijing located on the eastern end of town (think about how large metropolitans have, like, a Chinatown, and imagine them being more like gated communities). As long as you pay your taxes, you get all the free egg rolls you can eat.
If you're particularly religious and want to live in a Catholic theocracy, establish residence at the nearest Vatican City Express.
Fundamentalist Islamic gun nut? Free AK-47's just for signing up at Little Kabul. Could be tricky for women, though...sign at the gate says "No shoes, no burqa, no service." Kinda hard to find a house to live in unless you can negotiate group rates (Neo-Guadalajara has the same problem), but at least access to building materials is free.
Foreign ownership and operation of themed subdivision/development franchises is the wave of the future. You basically get to pick whatever laws you want to live under, and it would be easier to seek asylum from political enemies, especially if you have dual or even triple citizenship.
It would make fighting wars a lot less messy. Think about it: If a serious conflict broke out between Neo-Pyongyang and Neo-Seoul, nobody would ever know because it would too easily resemble a turf war between urban gangs. The only real problems you'd have would be like if Neo-Bosnia wanted to launch an attack on Neo-Serbia and the only way they could move infantry was to go through Neo-Switzerland. There'd probably be some agreement that the host country would provide security to deal with conflict resolution. If Neo-Bosnia, Neo-Serbia, and Neo-Switzerland were situated in the Los Angeles suburbs, you'd get all the hilarity of watching LAPD and law enforcement as far away as the Orange County Sheriff's department come in with full riot gear to break it up--not that the Swiss couldn't handle themselves, of course.
What would really be fun is if a white supremacist group opened a Confederate States of America franchise in Cambodia. Human rights would suck, no doubt, but you know they'd have GREAT restaurants!! ! The fusion restaurants would be especially to-die-for: Deep-fried catfish sushi wrapped in turnip greens. YUM! The golf course/country club would be impressive. Pretty much anyone would be welcome to visit, although getting citizenship would be difficult--extensive background checks to include genealogy and such. Otherwise, no shirt, no shoes, no problem.
Actually something similar was in the works in Ecuador to make types of private cities, of which countries like Canada or such could sponsor them. And you point about turf wars is well taken. As it is, we have violence the police can't contain. Any difference really? I think barring micro nations from happening, I think PT and agorism are the next best thing.
I think a lot of the problems stem from combining politics with justice. We need to separate our countries and their politics from the job of making sure justice is done.
So yeah, an ultraminimal pseudo-state filled with micronations. Nothing stopping them from building their own town using the open source city templates that will be going up on the internet - or it's replacement - in a few years time. As long as it's not a Rothbardian state, that is. They can exile anyone who refuses to abide by their laws. Reserve the criminal courts for crimes against the person, have the civil courts for property damage, theft, fraud etc. Prison (see, prison on the cheap, automated prison) only to be used to contain dangerous individuals, and as punishment for serious crimes (assault, murder).
Personally, I'm a post-scarcity distributist Christian novamoderate, with a dash of transhumanism thrown in there. I'm all for the free hospitals and schools, and using ancillas to assist in both these endeavors, but you'd be more likely to find me on my flagship. I want to see standard templates available on the internets for every common device or body, and a lot more for the niche ones. Go to the local fab lab, if you haven't got one yourself, and make whatever device you want, be it a part to an automated greenhouse or an integrate satellite launcher. If you've got the money (shares in the Bank of Terra, backed by property across the solar system) you can go to the local bodyshaper, and lie back whilst the autodoc works on you (I recommend general anesthetic). You shouldn't need much, and for most modifications you won't need to use the autodoc at all - you'll just have to work for a few days to get the money, if you want something like a facial reshaping. Do make sure you go to an accredited bodyshaper, you don't save any money by risking having your face turned inside out...

WHAT??? Are you kidding me? My Cambodian CSA franchise was going to be Rothbardian!! ! We'd be open indiscriminately to visitors any time. We'll even let you play golf on our private course free of charge as long as you're an invited guest of one of our citizens. We'd have cuisine that rivals the best of Southeastern USA standard fare--we'd be more North Carolina than North Carolina and more cajun than New Orleans. Bluegrass music EVERY night. And if you're black and can't find a job in the states, come on over. We'll give you free housing, free food, the best free health care anywhere in South Asia...and all you have to do is provide the free labor.
And if you get accepted for citizenship rights you can do pretty much anything you want as long as you're not black or gay. Otherwise, it's a libertarian paradise.
I LOVE it!! ! Maybe we could work out some sort of trade agreement. Agricultural products, maybe even our surplus ethanol and biofuels in exchange for retrofitting our nig...uhm, I mean, our HELP with enhancements for more heavy lifting?
