No, but calling them "cracker" most definitely is.

Cracker? Never heard that word used outside of describing a biscuit you eat with cheese or to describing a stunningly beautiful woman.

Could that be extended into calling someone a "Jacob"?

I've heard "cream crackered" = "knackered" = exhausted, but never a racial variant.
"Cracker" seems to be specific to the southern USA.

The word "Cracker" is apparently used in the Southern states to refer to White folks, or maybe just White southerners.

It's as racist as calling a black person black.

So, ....

I've heard American's use the expression "trailer trash" and assumed that meant poor white people.

If they don't live in a trailer the term white trash is used.

Cracker is the black slang word for white man.
For the non americans on this forum: don't use that word around white people when you are on vacation in the USA.

If no one minds me referring to a racist term, I'll point out that I do know one serious ethnic slur against white people. That word is ofay.

It's generally only used in situations where there is a local black majority, and therefore relates to a common special case of the rule about punching up or punching down.

I think that referring to whiteness in a situation where whiteness is the unstated norm is not only relevant, but important. It's one way to deal with the issue where in a lot of situations, white people get treated better than people of color, all else being equal. I'm more interested, for the purposes of this discussion, in that special case.

After all the horror stories I keep hearing about your TSA it is extremely unlikely I'll ever visit America, on vacation or otherwise; but that is going very off topic.

It's a fairly common term in the US, typically used by blacks to disparage whites. On the other hand, natives of Florida and Georgia with roots going back into the 19th century take pride in referring to themselves as and being called crackers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracker_(pejorative)
"Cracker, sometimes white cracker or cracka, is a derogatory term for white people,[1] especially poor rural whites in the Southern United States. In reference to a native of Florida or Georgia, however, it is sometimes used in a neutral or positive context and is sometimes used self-descriptively with pride."

Don't even talk about crackers unless you're white.
