Red Death - The Horrors Of Communism
We probably agree on a fair bit even if we have rather different world views. I personally don't think that Utopian projects are possible, we had our chance in paradise. People who try to enact them always end up putting the idea in front of the person. Utopia is at odds with the concept of human governance because it sees contemporary people as a means to some ends. Whereas, in good governance (and in life), people are seen as ends in themselves and the state is designed to accommodate them, under the assumption that we could theoretically have been born to any position within that society. That is the sort of egalitarianism I go in for, not a social project but a social contract.
Beware of those who try to make us all "good".
Beware even more of those who try to make us -perfect-.
The perfect is the enemy of the good enough.

the human race is already being wiped out by a capitalist massacre.
The only difference is its not being orchestrated by any one state, which i suppose is what makes it alright.
19 000 children die everyday of curable causes due to profit related decisions made by capitalists.

THE BLUE DEATH.
MRB suggests its 1.6 billion.
Note it includes the deaths caused by Mussolini, thats because Mussolini's form of fascism was actually a form of hyper-capitalism.

I think the fascists had better looking uniforms.
And their marching music was much better too.

I don't know, the Soviet National Anthem is pretty much the best ever:

The Russian Federation uses the same music, but they altered the lyrics so that they are unsettling for different reasons.

I feel rather obliged to speak here, as a communist myself. I'm 15, a kid, basically. I know what happened in the USSR; I know of what Lenin did, Stalin, Trotsky, amongst others, I know about Mao, and the Vietnam war, for example, but I'm no expert. I could argue the whole 'it wasn't real communism' idea, but it's overdone, and the majority of people have decided whether or not they want to believe it. I wrote a (100% scoring) political essay for school on the travesties causes by capitalism and privatisation, on topics such as the effect of private companies on UK workers in the Thatcher era, as well as the shocking child poverty rate here today. Of course, this doesn't only apply to Britain, considering there are millions of people across the world living and dying in poverty- that isn't the fault of communism; capitalism not only created this but is also continuing to let it happen. Capitalism kills. I believe that communism is the only fair ideology due to random nature of life- the unavoidable inequalities that occur in society- so that everyone can have the best chance at a decent life they can, rather than just hoping to be one of the 'lucky' ones born to a rich family. Just because a few people used the name of communism for their own agenda, does not mark the idea itself 'evil'/ to be cast aside. There are still a wide array of followers/support for socialism despite the use of it by Hitler (although you can use the same 'it wasn't' real socialism' argument...). No system is perfect, each has flaws and most have had good and bad leaders or supporters; communism is simply another of those systems.
Whilst as an ideology Communism might be good, I think the point maybe the OP was making was Communism's propensity to expand its umbrella to cover the known Earth by the use of violence and terror, and ensuring submission to it by means that made it indistinguishable from Nazi Fascism.
Bit like the Henry Jackson Society.
For one thing communism is utterly non existent in the world. It simply does not exist in reality. The closest we have to it is socialism. In fact, most of what's out there is socialism with a bit of capitalism rearing its head from time to time so people just believe they are free. Really what people seek is an end to their hunger, thirst and misery. This is where pragmatism enters the picture and is the most workable ism we have.

The 5 day week, the 8 hour day and child labour laws brought to you from the struggle of organised labour.
or Imperialist States.
You can't substitute any form just because you say they can.
I live in Mexico. Now If you talk to most mexicans with an internet connection, facebook and twitter accounts, they will tell you mexico's current president is the worst and that he's a neoliberal who intends to sell the country bit by bit. They'll also tell you he's an idiot (which is true, but he isn't really significantly more idiotic than the average mexican politician) and other stuff that will tranform into a raging rant.
Now, while I think any sort of government opposition is healthy, this huge opposition led by college students and intellectual snobs is more of a reactionary movement than a smart opposition. By definition, to them, everything our government does is bad, sucks, and is the most capitalist thing ever. (More or less the kind of wording they would use). Raise in taxes? Capitalism! Having people who has earnings from stock market pay more taxes? Captalism! It seems like they don't even realize how idiotic their systematic opposition is.
The thing is, a lot of people in my country idealize socialism, without realizing we already live in a pseudo-socialist government. We have free health-care, free education in all levels. The basic things are heavily subsidized. Pensions are paid to everyone over 65, and every mexican has unemployment insurance. Public transport is ridiculously cheap,Mexico has high taxes as well and some of them are plain ridiculous (There's a tax for food high in colories, but it also applies in cooking oil, butter, chicken broth cubes and other stuff that isn't necessarily a cause for obesity itself) and the more you earn, the more taxes you get to pay. Of course rich people can work their way around the IRS so in fact is the middle class who gets to pay the most. Most of government infrastructure doesn't work or is inneficient and somehow people want more of that.
Another thing these people do is criticize any and all form of government action against protesting, even if the action makes sense or is a result of police defending themselves and other people of violent protests (Not always the case, but it doesn't matter since somehow protestors are entitled to break any law they want and nobody should make anything about it) I am in favor of freedom of speech and the right to protest, but when the protestors only purpose seems to be to disrupt other people's lives as much as they can I think they are over-reaching their liberties. And a lot of time these protests are violent, but if you ever point that out to them, they'll go with the true scottsman argument. Now there are times when the government outreaches its attributions and that really pisses me off, but it looks like two immature childs hitting each other when the grownups turn around and each trying to get the other blamed and punished when he is also the one to blame.
In the end, people may say you mexican government sucks, that is repressive, violent and against its people's interest. But in the end, the government always has acknowledged the existence of oppsosition and most pacific protests are uneventful. When you see what happens at Venezuela, where the opposition to the government is chased an incarcerated, where protests are met with armed men opening fire on civilians claiming they are trying to conduct a coup d'etat. I mean, in only a couple of videos of what happens in Venezuela I have seen more violence from the government that in any of the protests in Mexico, starting with the fact that I actually have seen people die in the Venezuelan videos instead of just complaining and making up things. (There's a video where some people claim the government is using lethal weapons against them and they present as evidence an OC grenade wich they claim to be a frag grenade, probably becuase they can't tell the difference)
I'd much rather lived in my country, where one of the biggest represenatives of opposition against government runs a political party and appears publicly without fear. Where pacific protests are mostly uneventful. Where media isn't government controlled (It's kind of the other way around, which for a lot of stuff is just as bad) and you can buy mainstream magazines that openly criticize government without any problem and where people have to make up stuff against the government just to make it look as bad and terrifying as a totalitarian regime (This guy called Ruy Salgado who had a podcast against government, staged a bogus government abduction. He later reappeared and came clean. Basically because people around him where so concerned that started doing research and uncovered a bunch of lies he had been telling. He claimed he had to disappear due to threats, but by that time nobody believed him)
The irony here is that socialists defend venezuelan government. And I just can't get it. And I can't understand how on earth do they think that is the true way.
So yeah, basically there are lots of things that are better than communism.

The fact it has only one author, no citing, no source for research, and no deliberation at all, makes me think only one biased commie wrote that article or had any part in it.
People dieing under Capitalism is different than people being ethnically cleansed by Communism. Communism's mass killing were ALL deliberate. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Newsflash: Maoists are not credible sources about capitalism. Fascism is a form of radical centrist politics, and thus, it's no more capitalist than it's socialist.
