Christian geocentrics are a subset of biblical literalists They take the bible extremely literally. Here is a creationist organization trying to talk some sense to them:

That's from the above link. You can believe whatever you like, as can they. The point is that the bible is not a science textbook. Nor is it very good at history.

In all fairness, when Jesus said "I bring not peace, but a sword," he was talking about not violence by his hand, but rather, the violence of others reacting against to his message.
(This does not excuse Christians through out the ages who have used violence as a means to an end.)

There's a verse in Revalations that says there will be no dogs in the holy city,I guess God doesn't want them pooping on the streets of gold.
