Girl Prays for Japanese Earthquake
History shows that 'Us-and-them'ism' is an essential part of religion.
That said, regarding the Japanese narrative, it is supremely ignorant to think that the be all and end all of grievance with Japan starts and ends with Pearl Harbour.

I guess it might if your knowledge of religious history is relegated to just Christianity and Islam. And also yes, what the Japs did is on a par if not worse than what Hitler did
And AspieOtaku, if you want to talk about brain washing you should check out public schools

I would rather have a kid in public school learning science any day of the week than having them in a private school being taught fairy tales about invisible men in the sky. At least until someone can explain to me why it is public schools want to teach children about "ID." I still maintain the only reason is to try to counter the teaching of theory of evolution, or eliminate the teaching of theory of evolution altogether evolution.
Oh really? When was the last time you actually talked to a kid? I got news for you, they dont know jack sh** about science and if your entire view of it is relegated to just evolution then you dont either.
My view of science is not relegated to the theory of evolution. And the reason kids dont know sh** about science is that despite whatever they are taught in school, they come home to parents who don't know anything about science, or pretty much anything else, but they do believe in God. And kids today are more influenced by their iPads, iPhones and tablets (all created because of science) than they are their parents or their teachers. Teachers teach science and kids come home to parents that believe in God. Maybe that is why they don't know sh** about science. You say I don't know anything about kids? I may not have kids of my own, but I have nieces, nephews, twice and thrice removed. I see kids everyday, on skateboards which function because of the laws of physics which kids do not understand, using their mobile devices created by science yet most of them do not understand the processes that make their devices possible. They just know how to use them to send messages and pictures. Everything that exists in these kids daily lives are the result of science, not magic. And, yeah, every kid I know of believes in God, for no other reason than that is what they have been taught since they were too young to know any better. And they have been taught not to question the existence of God. Which is why so many Christians believe that anyone who DOES question the existence of God is attacking their beliefs. Because THEY have been conditioned not to question their own beliefs. Your use of the S word to express your indignation is an example of that. You are a believer yet you feel the need to curse at someone who questions your beliefs. I am not a believer, yet I have no compulsion to curse at you for disagreeing with me. I think I am practicing the teachings of Jesus Christ better than you.
You are fixated beyond reason on the false notion that every kids parents believe in god(they dont) and that if they did that some how correlates to a lack of scientific knowledge(it doesnt). Even if believing in god did mean a lack of scientific theory, the numbers of believers would NOT be sufficient to explain the widespread drought of scientific understanding among school kids.
I couldn't even read your entire post due to your broken and clearly symptomatic logic. I would however like to say that I learned computer theory and programming when I was in the 9th grade thanks to a computer I built my self from scratch. So your little idea about that is equally wrong. I went way way way way beyond any paltry science that was being taught in school back at the time and developed skills that have helped me more in life today than anything I actually learned in school. My access to technology and information completely change who I was as a person. Kids today literally have a level of access to knowledge that no other children in history have ever experienced. younger kids literally do not know what it is like to live without instant access to every piece of information they could want. Yes there may be some growing panes but if you dont htink its a good thing you are clearly clearly out of touch with reality. So why dont you take a a step back form mic before you say any more silly things ok?

Your post was not talking about you. It was talking about kids today. I am not saying that what I posted above reflects everyone, or every Christian, or every family. It is just what I have experienced. I think you are far higher up on the sanctimonious soapbox than I am. You know more about technology than I do. Good for you. I was referring to the video posted and you took it as a personal attack on all of some group. I don't know what exactly it is you are all up in a wad about, but this is obviously curling your hairs more than it is mine. Calm down a bit. This post is not the rapture or the apocalypse

I could go back and find some (to be modest) of your posts that were anything but calm or rational.

Well im sorry dude but you said a lot of incredibly silly untrue things in your post. I might have been soap boxing to use my self as a personal example. You your self said that what think is based on what you have seen and yet you failed to give one solid example from your own life about it. You cant make your point without using extreme and unusual youtube videos that represent a very unrealistic small minority. There are more people who learn excessively about productive useful information because of their access to tech and the web than there are who do not.
The truth isnt that kids are being dumb because they come home to parents who believe in god and its not because of their ipad either. Both religion and ipads can either be used for good or bad, they are not inherently either productive or counterproductive.
The fact is that kids who come to households without access to the internet and computer are considered to be at a massive disadvantage in learning weather they are religious or not.

Yup, but when I make posts like that I can honestly say I am usually not fully in control of my mental state due to medications or being on the end of a hand puppet mood swing phase. And I admit to it, but I never curse at people. And when I recognize that I am out of control, I disengage myself from the conversation.

And maybe I have problems with communication because what I want to say in an instant requires a lot of typing and I get frustrated and resort to cursing people because it is easier. Its a lot either to say "fk you you are stupid" than it is to type what I did in my last reply that you conveniently ignored. You are not the only one here with issues.

By the power of my will I command there to be an earthquake in Japan. This is as close as you can get to a sure thing.
The tornados ripping throught the south killing people and spreading total destruction, are going through the Bible Belt.
Two Republican conventions got hit with hurricanes.
Results matter.
