I can't get enough of this picture! I disagree with it, but I still find it funny. LMAO.

Anyways, I don't like the idea of a pope and believe there is a difference between Catholics and Chritians. Not getting into detail though, but they're there.

Well, first of all, it's a joke. Second of all, I don't believe that a person can really be 'saved' or 'unsaved', I think it's all about being a good person (I already know what Born-Again Christians believe, so no one needs to send me a long rant explaining why I'm 'wrong').

How about living to do good for other people?

Although this doesn't have much to do with the Bible itself, there is a lot of historical evidence that King James was gay. Just a bit of trivia.

Julius Ceaser was known as every woman's husband, and every man's wife.

Also, the ancient Spartans used to make love to each other in their all male army so that they'd be more protective of each other.

Jesus was bisexual and bipolar.

My 6 cents.

Don't forget the "Sacred Band" - the elite fighting force of ancient Thebes (the Greek one) which was exclusively composed of homosexual lovers.

I don't want to come over all Kitsune on you (in more ways than one ), but where's your proof? - seems a bit of a stab in the dark, that one..... OK, he liked hanging about with big, butch fishermen, was a dab hand at catering and liked to talk about "loving his fellow man" a bit too much for comfort, but you need a bit more corroboration....

Tafkash I do apologise, and of course to all the other offended people out there. I have no proof - that's why I put "My six cents". The whole bisexual thing is all a weird joke which didn't even make sense at the time. The bipolar thing is just my personal observation.

Someone apologising to me for being offensive about Jesus? That's a new one! Don't worry about it matey - I was only mildly pulling your leg as an excuse to get my own "gay Jesus" material in there..... Although I thought better of noting his S&M tendencies as further evidence of his "pinkness", uncharacteristically for me :) "Ooh! Scourge me, big boy! I love a Roman in uniform....."

:D LNL (laughing but not out loud because I hate the whole lol shi'ite).

I thought of a cool band setup would be four guys. They'd all be really menacing and play some REALLY evil menacing music: One's really tall and extremely well built and wears an ancient roman or greek or something like that military uniform with those stupid helmets with the feathers. One's bald and short and wears this priest's black cloak with a jewish cap. One looks exactly like Zed from Pulp Fiction. One wears an 18th century English justice getup with the stupid long wigs and again the black cloak.

Recently i had the dubious honour of being given 'Theaussie Bible" ! a bible written in Australian slang/ english . is it just me, or is that too weird for words? what didnt surprise me is there is also a cockney bible available .
OF COURSE it was an american who first thought up the idea of an 'aussie bible'
Is that a comment in itself on the united states ?

I despise the "wheres your proof?" about jesus being gay, or married or whatever..

You have no proof even in the bible that he even existed, so why question what anyone else says about him, or any other character?

If you say the bible is proof, rewritten quite recently, I'm gonna have to tell you that it was written over a VERY long time, it was used for political purposes, and its meaning and message are obsolete.

Ok you can use it spiritually, I accept that, ok you can believe what you want, I accept that, but asking others to prove their own theories on jesus, is like saying your own beliefs are fact...

which they obviously, are not proven, and never were..

Prove to me your saviour will save you?

Prove to me that I'm going to hell because I call my god motion..

I don't actually need a book to tell me how to treat people, I've learnt that over time, I've learnt morals..

Yes there are good points to it all, but you ruin the credibility of your faith when you question others views.. Cause thats exactly what it is, FAITH..

How dare someone call another unsaved, or atheist, or anything simply because they don't believe what you do...

Some of us don't need an afterlife to make this life worthwhile...

You say hi to god when you're dead and your body is becoming part of everything that is, I dream of god in this life, god is infinity, and is within every single one of us, within us, around us, among us..

As if someone who is naive would suffer endless torment, how ridiculous..

You really couldn't see the wisdom in the symbology of heaven and hell?? Treat others like s**t, you burn, treat others well, your name lives on forever.. Much more simple, feels a lot better, or do you need to feel that you're special and most humans are burning in a pit of fire?

How ridiculous..

"The Message"... It's a simple paraphrase and uses some of the literal translations of certain names and whatnot. It sounds a bit weird after growing up on the KJV but it really does reflect the culture and language of the original text. The latest edition of it has the actual verse numbers but the first edition reads just like a regular book, no columns or anything. I really like reading it alongside the NIV and they even have bibles with both versions side-by-side.
