Did the 9/11 truth movement really die?
Citation. Needed.
The "explosion" you saw before the entire thing collapsed was the damaged, burning segment of the building being quickly compressed by the segment above it. Imagine a large cement block covered in burning liquid fuel. Now drop another cement block directly on top of it. The flames will shoot out of the sides as the burning fuel is instantly displaced. The initial impact and the jet fuel was more than enough to destroy the load bearing capability of the tower's upper portion.
Have you actually seen the video I described? Perhaps I wasn't clear? Perhaps English isn't your first language?
Watching, it was clear the first thing that happened was ALL of the windows exploded outward.......THEN the upper building began to descend and (if the windows were not already gone) would have compressed the air inside.
"Citation. Needed." No citation needed.....go google it for yourself, it's everywhere.

Why would engineering and demolition arguments ever convince people without those expertise?
There's a danger in hinging concerns about the emerging police state on 911 truth. Many of the post 911 police state measures and invasions would have questionable legitimacy even if the official story were 100% accurate.

Yes, just like the crying and whining from the left about the war in Iraq petered out once George W left and their man stepped in. All the sudden the war wasn't so awful and the welfare of the troops not so critical. It's really all just a matter of which side of the bread the butter is on....
That's very much a straw man argument, Raptor. Most people who truly affiliate themselves with the left are fed up and annoyed with Obama's inaction on the on-going wars and failure to close Gitmo. Most of us don't think that Obama is anything close to the leftist your side wants him to be so badly. At the same time, regardless of what most neo-con and tea-party conservatives wish to believe, we are still a constitutional government that requires Congress to act, and when said congress refuses to do anything, so to diminish the efficacy and popularity of a president they despise, it's difficult to get much done.
hence the nasty gridlock, and the catalyst for our soon to be rapid decline.
Accusations of strawman attacks here are like accusations of speeding at the Indy 500. And the left has been much calmer about Obama's military exploits than they ever were about Bush's.
What is IS....

If you're talking about left of the center, then for sure, the "left" has been much calmer in comparison to Bush. If you're talking about that terrible radical communist fascist bogeyman left then you're quite wrong. We are very vocal about our contempt for the industrial military complex and growing police/surveillance state.
One thing to consider is that maybe people are less vocal, because he has been more resistant into getting the country into more unnecessary wars that the neo-cons have been pushing for the past few years--Libya, Syria, Egypt, name state x that is falling apart, etc. I think he may be getting some credit over the ongoing wars that he doesn't really deserve due to the fact that he's refused to expand our global wars that were started by the people who advocating for more military action right now.

Killer Obama began raining missiles down on innocent people in Libya before J. McCain could even holler "bomb 'em." And before congress had a chance to decide anything. I'm convinced he performed this sacrifice of human beings to show the military complex and hawks he wasn't afraid of war. Too bad for all those Libyans involved in his "noble gesture" I guess. To bad also for all the innocent men, women and children he continues to kill with his cruise missiles.
I'm not sure what the number of total countries invaded is but, in addition to all the bush wars, Obama has added a whole new group. And spying has gotten out of control and Obama defends the taking of every liberty. He's just a slime ball black politician, period. Nothing new there.
Anyone who is interested in learning the truth about 9/11 should watch the following video. For those wishing to bury their head in the sand and continue believing the lie of the official story (which has so many holes in it it's ridiculous), don't watch it.
http://youtu.be/hWiusdy1miI
It's 1 hour 44 minutes long, but well worth watching all the way through. They pretty much cover the whole thing from start to finish, including:
- Witness reports of bombs in the buildings (including from fire-fighters on the scene)
- Proof that the planes that hit the twin towers were not normal airliners (witness testimony plus video evidence)
- The science of the destruction of buildings 1, 2 and 7 (by people who know what they are talking about)
- The impossibility of a plane hitting the Pentagon (it's just common sense when you look at the photos and do the math)
- The background of the "hijackers" (most of whom were still alive afterwards)
- How al-Qaeda isn't really a terrorist organisation
- Why the officials who let this happen should have been, at the very least, sacked from their jobs for incompetence if they really weren't able to prevent it (they would have been able to on any other day)
- Why the biggest threat to us are our own governments
The twin towers of the World Trade Center were specifically designed to withstand airliners crashing into them, and never before or since have steel framed buildings collapsed due to fire (many have burned far worse and for far longer and remained standing). And a 3rd building (building 7) collapsed at free-fall speed exactly like a demolition - 2 planes, 3 buildings, you do the math.
For anyone who still believes the official story, there are only 2 possibilities (putting stupidity aside), either:
1) They haven't researched it, OR:
2) It's too painful for them to believe that the US Government could do such a thing,
Regarding point number 2, of course they would. They kill loads of people in other countries all the time. What makes you think they care about the common people in their own country? They don't see themselves as the same. It's really scary, but it's true. Governments kill whoever they need to for their own gains. Why do you think they are so happy to send their own people abroad to get killed and maimed in politically motivated wars? What makes you think it's any different how their own people die, whether's it's on a battle field in another country or in a tower block in their own country? As long as neither themselves or any of their friends or family are affected, it really doesn't matter to them.
And it really does matter. It really matters that so many people still believe the lie, because so much has happened since 9/11 based on the official story being true.
I mean, like most people, I believed it when it first happened, and for a while afterwards. I'm not entirely certain at what point I eventually realised the official version of events didn't add up, but it was a LONG time ago. Probably around 2006/2007. I mean, it's been 13 years, and some people still believe it? Come on, what's the deal? Have you only just got the internet? Are you blind? Gullible? Stupid? Scared of being labelled a lunatic?

Initially I was planning on quoting "al-Qaeda isn't a terrorist organisation" and replying with a one word response that shows what I think of that claim, but then I realised that everything you say here is rubbish. If you don't know why then do some research or something.
Which of these scenarios is more likely?
- Terrorists, who had previously attacked the WTC and threatened to attack again unless the US stopped interfering in Arab nations, hijacked planes and flew them into the WTC and the Pentagon in order to demonstrate that they were serious and provoke the US into an unwinnable, aimless war
- The government of the United States found people willing to fly planes into the WTC, found people willing to rig the WTC and the Pentagon up with bombs, transferred the bombs secretly, rigged them up without anybody noticing, actually flew the planes into the towers, detonated the bombs, killing millions, and blamed it on some fictional terrorists who then took responsibility, so that they'd have an excuse to enter into an unwinnable, aimless war and limit the rights of their citizens. Oh, and they didn't leave any documents or records for Snowden or Manning or anyone else to leak, and not one person who heard of it objected.
For me ît was Building 7.
Which fell down long after and was a 100% perfect demolition job. If you've ever seen explosive demolition on TV this was exactly the same with the entire longer building falling at one time.
And the gov. explanation? "Maybe it was damaged earlier."
And then? No public outrage. Stupid people just accepted it, further separating me from (God save us) "normal" people.

I am quite happy to accept that a building that is obviously on fire after being hit by a load of burning debris will probably fall down.

You can accept anything that makes you happy.
Too bad all the dead and their survivors aren't able to do the same,
but if you take a moment to read the documents you'll see why the
surviving families are still looking for justice beyond the government
generated farce of Osama.
But you may not take the time; most people are too busy with important things.
Yada yada...."sheeple"...yada yada...."wake up".
The biggest weaknesses in many conspiracy theories are:
1. The actual point. By this I don't mean a vague notion of power, but looking at the entire conspiracy, would the enterprise be actual worthwhile as opposed to countless other far simpler and more fruitful plans.
2. The logistical possibility.
3. The number of people that would have to be involved to carry it off.
4. The surprising apparent selflessness of the co-conspirators to cooperate, where very few of them would benefit much out of it, and certainly there would no guarantee they would be rewarded.
5. The likelihood co-conspirator not to succumb to self-interest or compromise the plan with their humanity and fallibility.
6. The need for such powerful origination to be secret rather than overtly take control.
7. The pointlessness of deliberately leaving tenuous clues for the true believers to goad them.
8. The over simplistic view of the world and morality.
9. The lack of knowledge or interest in world history prior to when they consider their theory (or seminal times), and simply using it selectively fill in the gaps.
10. The tendency to absolve oneself from human nature by having this catch all evil force to blame problem on.
11. Assumption chaining.
12. The idea that becuase they have this insight that somehow those that don't agree with them are incapable of thinking for themselves, and are somehow more conformist than they are.
13. The idea that being contrarian is the answer, becuase if you don't actually know then the more "logical" position must be the opposite to what you are "supposed" to believe.
14. The obsession with certain influential (often historical) groups at the exclusion of others who may in fact be far more influential and powerful today, which coincides with lack or real understand of socioeconomic issues.

In other words if in doubt, emotionally blackmail. You mean "some" families are looking for another narrative for justice. The family's views are widespread, from strong need retribution, to wanting to move on.
Grief is very complex. This is true, for natural death, misadventure or mass murder.
I welcome inquiry on this issue based on merit.
Conspiracy theories are a big waste of time, but I like to read about them occasionally. Like ghost stories or roller coasters they can provide a safe thrill from a momentary feeling of danger.
On the other hand, putting too much credence in them, and not being able to disconnect and get on with life can be very destructive. To focus only on conspiracy horrors all day is unlikely to make you a better person. Paranoid people seldom make good friends or life partners.
I know a guy who was in the Pentagon on 9/11. He says that "the flight that fought back" was actually shot down by the Air Force after it was hijacked and the story was created to create a spin for the media to promote patriotism in a time of national crisis.
But, as far as he knows the rest of the 9/11 official story is true.
But, as far as he knows the rest of the 9/11 official story is true.
Lots of people were in the Pentagon during 9/11. That doesn't mean they know what happened.
Pentagon = Ministry/Department of Defense in any other country.
They employ thousands of people in countless fields and many levels of clearance. Why would this guy be in the know?
Then we can get on to confirming the person and the account.
