In Judaism, eating forbidden meat carries no penalty (not death, not beating) even though it is forbidden.

If there is no penalty, why don't more Jews eat it? Just a stupid question from one of the many uninitiated.


Lots of Reform and secular Jews eat pork, and other non-Kosher items like lobster, shrimp, oysters, and swordfish.
