Is it right that autistic men can't donate sperm?
Ideally, they would be able to and women could choose whether to use their sperm or not.
However, most sperm banks are privately owned and can make up all sorts of crazy qualifications.

Did he go to the Fairfax Sperm Bank?
That's one of the largest in America, and yes they will deny you if you have autism... Unless they have a client specifically looking for someone with autism.

To be fair, I've done quite a bit of research on this subject and for most banks, only about 1-2% of males are accepted to donate sperm nowadays... Currently mostly Brazilian/colombian men, because those are in style at the moment.
It isn't federal regulation, it's an increase in "Industry standards."
To be accepted, not only do you have to fill out the forms, you are also judged by your actions once you arrive at the building. If you piss someone off, they'll assume that you have bad traits that no one would want. If you seem awkward, they'll assume your awkward, which no one wants. If the staff thinks your ugly, too bad.
I find it disgusting actually. It is a form of eugenics.
And when it comes to autism which while it has genetic elements, it's more complex than anything else we know of. Autism has now been linked to about 100 genes, with 23 genes confirmed to have connection to autism. This is up from there being only 9 confirmed and 27 linked only a few years ago. Traditional pedigree doesn't really work, which means the genetic inheritance is unpredictable.

Unrelated to my earlier posts... but...
Would you think that those with a genetic predisposition to sickle cell anemia shouldn't create children or donate sperm because they will be giving over a potentially lethal disease to their children? Most would say yes, I believe.
However, that same gene that causes that predisposition makes it easier for the body to fight off Malaria and prevent Malaria. In some places in the world, this trait would make survival easier. Malaria still is one of the biggest killers known to man. Evolution works towards "not dying," not really towards long term survival, but the survival for an epoch. Species that become genetically backed into a corner are more likely to face extinction when the need comes to adapt.

Sorry I couldnt resist but whenever I see something made by CWC I cant help but laugh! I wouldn't blame them for not wanting his sperm and he is a poor representation of the majority of the autism spectrum. Sure he does make a point but this is Chris Chan the same guy who hates gay people but also crossdresses and acts like a tom girl! I have trouble making his point seriously because of his actions.

First, it's a law in the Netherlands. Is Asperger's Syndrome really classified as an 'Illness' there?
Second, the science behind the law is flawed ...
What does the Netherlands law say specifically? The article is not very clear, but there is nothing in the article confirming that it is against the law for autistic men to donate sperm in the Netherlands or that the man in question has been prosecuted by the law. From what I can tell, it could be just that donor clinics prefer not to pay for donations from men with medical or neurological conditions on the grounds that there is less demand for them. And once a clinic finds that a donor has been lying to them, I suppose it is not surprising if the clinic then bans them.
Of course, we could have a separate debate regarding if it is right (or even if it should be legal) for a certain institution to ask you to disclose any medical or neurological conditions you might have in the first place.

The point of donating sperm is so that women have a selection of viable and HEALTHY donors to choose from. Having any number of family or personal health issues would disqualify you from donating. If a woman gets donated sperm and gets a kid with autism, it should be a chance happening, not something that might have been made more probable by the donor having a history of autism in their family or being autistic themselves.
