I hate these anti-vax motherf****rs
People don’t like being told what to do or to think. The more reasonable what you’re told to do is, the more unreasonable you have to be to demonstrate your rebelliousness.

I was allergic to something in the vaccines so I didn't get them as a child. I believe I got the smallpox one in second grade or so, but that was it. I was also sick a lot as a child with respiratory problems. I was nervous about them when I had my first baby and did a lot of research and it did make me worry that the vaccines could cause autism, which I didn't know I had at the time. My first one got all his shots and got them on time. He also had the oral polio vaccine instead of the Salk vaccine which is the shot and is killed virus - OPV is live virus.
When I had my second baby she had a reaction to the pertussis and was in the hospital for a few days because of it. After that she nor any of our kids got the pertussis vaccine. The doctor had suggested this. Also, I found out that there were instances of the OPV causing polio in unvaccinated adults when excreted in the diaper of the baby so I switched to the Salk vaccine for all of them.
I don't particularly care for getting a shot to prevent everything, so I never got them the chicken pox vaccine or some of the other newer shots. I also don't care for new drugs like that because we don't know what side effects could happen years down the road from them. My kids have had chicken pox and a couple of them have had the measles even though they had the shot. Not Roseola, the big red measles.
I don't like how now they want to make the chicken pox vaccine mandatory, and also I don't like how they are pushing the HPV so much. They practically try and bully you into getting it for your daughter. My older daughter was in a monogamous relationship when they tried to make her get it, and she didn't want it and I wasn't going to force her, but every time we went to that doctor they brought it up. They also tried to push it on my younger daughter who is a virgin and plans on staying one until marriage - and not for religious reasons, she just wants to do that. We don't use that doctor anymore, for other reasons besides that but her know it all, my way or the highway "you're just a dumb parent I know everything because I'm a nurse practitioner" attitude finally got me to fire her (she insisted that my older daughter was faking her chronic stomach problems to get out of school and called the truant officer to inform her of this. My daughter ended up seeing another dr - not a CRNP this time - and her problem was finally fixed after having her gallbladder out a few years later.
I have no problems with vaccines that prevent life threatening illnesses, or even ones that prevent minor illnesses which are very inconveniencing. I have a problem with the fact that these are new drugs and we don't know what kind of long term side effects they could have. I don't like to give my kids anything that new and that hasn't been evaluated for at least a decade or two.
I did get into an argument on FB once with this douchebag idiot moron who insisted that because I have AS and I said I didn't have any vaccines that either 1. I was lying, 2. My mother lied to me about whether or not I had them as a young child and I didn't remember, 3. My medical records which state that I'm unvaccinated were falsified to cover up a drug company conspiracy that would prove that I had the vaccines and ended up with AS. That's ridiculous. I know some of the vaccines can cause a reaction that includes a high fever, and I think that sometimes the high fever or the seizures which accompany it occasionally can cause some brain damage which may have been confused with autism, but now that I know about autism I know that it's not possible that it was caused by vaccines, even though "A Shot in the Dark" says otherwise.
