So you live on the Gulf Coast? Cool. I looked up the temperature in Pensacola and it says you're at 16 degrees plus. Kingston's at -16 degrees. :(

One thing I like about Kingston, though, is it's cosmopolitan nature. We too have a military base and college, as well as a community college and a university. And several prisons. It's eclectic. Just this damn cold and snow and ice. Lol

I love cosmopolitan areas, and I do not own anything but shorts.

Even when it is 18F, I do not get cold, thank goodness, now that I am healthy again.

And I'm guessing you mean centigrade, and OMG, that's cold, I would most definitely have to buy some long pants and a coat if I lived there.

I love the sun, and have always tended toward seasonal affective disorder without, it.

All sun for me, and that is where I'm going next, outside to soak it in, as it is now about 65 degrees F here. :)

Have a great day to the both of you, and best wishes from me. :)

I love philosophy so here is my philosophy about philosophy.

To be Devine in oneself or to others is to completely surrender your soul, one must accept all notions and limitations. Thus in turn there are no distorted views behind jealousy, anger, greed, vanity. Only once one has accepted these views will be able to talk of Devine. To accept that philosophy is for all and not just for one. Any time this notion is to be rejected means that philosophy itself is distorted. Philosophy accounts for all living species on the planet, not just mankind. Nature is Devine we ourselves are only the observer.

Take it or leave it that's my theory. :D

I both like it and agree, it's a winning combination to me!..:)

Again, have a great day, and best wishes from me. :)

It sounds like us three are similar position, we each had a turbulent childhood, had lack of physical contact with parents, and my parents also passed away. I think I have had to learn a lot after such a devastating experience, I had to reason with myself a lot to stay healthy.

From all the research I've read it appears to be at least somewhat related to many cases of Autism, if not a prime factor in some of the reciprocal social communication issues.

A common issue I've seen in online Autism Communities is a hatred for not only one's own parents but parents in general.

I was never able to go from resentment to hatred though, mostly as my mother did stay, and was a very nurturing and stable source of trusted love.

It's interesting, as before the pill came on board, and women of the very feminine type moved more toward the beta male type, per the interaction of hormones, it was often the super masculine man that the super feminine female was attracted to and per vice versa, as it still is for the alpha male.

And that's what my father was, almost the ideal of human masculinity.

And my mother was voted as having the best figure in high school, with all her virginal ways STILL INTACT. ;)

MY FATHER rarely even talked to my mother after they married, and his twin brother, my uncle, never even said a word to my mother.

Autism is in the family tree for me MOST DEFINITELY. :)

MY SISTER is diagnosed with Asperger's in mid-life, and my Uncle's (father's identical twin brother) son, my cousin, of similar age, fits all the criteria, with or without a diagnosis. :)

And he's (cousin) an Elvis and Blue's Brothers impersonator, ironically enough, the Dan Akroyd role, per self diagnosis in Dan's real life way. ;)

Everything sounds very similar, take care ahogday, good speaking with you

What I am saying is you must respect people's humanity first, before anything else. I notice this is a serious pandemic, especially in religious fundamentalism and governments that abuse their power. No moral center.

I listened to Sean Hannity in the car the other day. He talked about Duke university and how they wanted to have a Friday Adhan which is the call to prayer you hear over loud speakers in Islamic countries. The Muslims at Duke were hoping for a call to prayer every Friday at the school broadcast from the chapel for all to hear and they could have been planning it for some time, who knows, or maybe it is recent decision to show inclusiveness to a world that is becoming more divided. As you can imagine, there was much counter protesting the decision citing Muslims can be intolerant of other's chosen faith so why should a chapel let them chant an Adhan for the campus to hear? Enraged folks encouraged alumni to boycott the university. So, Hannity had a Muslim on his show who was an Imam, maybe, not for sure but he was part of the Islamic scene in Baltimore and was affiliated with a mosque there. He said he respects everyone's humanity first and foremost, doesn't matter if they are man, woman, gay, straight, adulterer, or if they are other religions and at his mosque, Christians are welcome and do come for their own prayer groups. So I thought after hearing him, the man has a strong moral center, meaning he won't justify evil by religion and I thought, wouldn't a problems around the world go away if everyone were like him?

Lol at Musims intolerant of others. Do they have free speech or not? Do we believe in free speech or not? Do we believe in freedom of speech or not?

Let's not kill people. Let's keep it simple.

He could have easily said same as them and other fundamentalists that believe they are God's Elect and he's certainly free to say it in the US, just look at some of the Christian fundies and what they say. Instead, he chose wisdom and understanding instead of bigotry and hatred.
