Efrat Ben-Zur. Real person, not in my life.

I don't watch commercial TV, but will sometimes watch science/nature documentaries on ad-free channels. There tends to be actually interesting content in them. Otherwise, I watch DVDs.
Television in general makes me way too paranoid about human devolution. The whole thing is extremely dumbed-down. Case in point I get very confused about apparently perfectly sensible, educated, intellectually and emotionally capable adults who watch things like "My Kitchen Rules." It seems like it should be mutually exclusive. What's the point? I must be completely missing something. Then there's the sensationalism that I intensely dislike - they talk up some huge event in TV like its the moon landing, and in the case of My Kitchen Rules, it's an apple pie. I give up. People get really annoyed watching commercial news with me in the room, when I start ranting that the whole thing is a perverted mix between a fascist spin program and a gossip magazine. The manipulation is laughably transparent. Why bother? I shudder to think it's fooling anyone, though unfortunately, I know several people who honestly believe if they saw it on TV news it's the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I love it when visiting my very NT family and ads come screaming on, they dive for the mute button as enthusiastically as any sensory-assaulted autistic, so its not just us.

What they don't like is that you THINK for yourself. A trait which is very rare in our Society.

The entertainment I watch does not torture me, I only watch/listen to would be:

*Bill O'reilly on FNC's "O'reilly Factor"
*Sean Hannity on "The Sean Hannity Show"
*Mark Levin on "The Mark Levin Show"
*Greta Van Susteren on FNC's "On the Record"
*Bill Whittle on PJTV's "Trifecta", "Afterburner" and Truth Revolts' "Firewall"
*Megyn Kelly on FNC's "The Kelly File"
*Scott Ott on PJTV's "Trifecta" and "Scott Ott Thought" segments
*Stephen Green on PJTV's "Trifecta"
*Stephen Kruiser on PJTV's "The Rundown"
*John Philips on PJTV's "The Rundown"
*Fox News Sunday w/ Chris Wallace

I love the news, and keeping up to date with politics.

^ All those shows are my foremost torturous form of media. I watch international news, because nationalism in all its' forms just kills people. At least with international outlets all it takes is a good vocabulary to weed out the propagandists. You can get more real news from South Park and The Onion than Fox, CBS, NBC and the like.

Without South Park I don't know if I could have the minimal understanding of US culture that I do. It's like a translation for the way I think.
