Did Mike Brown deserve to die?
If all he did was steal, rob, and beat people up, he would deserve a good lynching and getting fined/robbed of his possessions.
Race riots are stupid.
Could you be more racist???
Where did I mention race? He was a thug who had it coming for him. When you're grabbing for someone else's gun, you've gone far beyond "haha mate I was just messing with you". What do you think he would have done if he got ahold of that gun? Gently caress him with it? Give me a break. If not apologizing for a thugs actions makes me a racist, so be it
Well, in the third sentence of your post...
You relied on a narrative of racial tropes (particularly "thug" who deserved "lynching") to justify your point of view.
Regardless of any racism on your part, I'm more concerned by your retribution-based sense of justice...
Oh please, I'm not sure how stuff works where you're from, but here, anyone can be a thug, be he/she black, white, asian, or martian. You act a certain way, you get stamped as a certain type of individual.
Why do people insist on putting words in my mouth/misinterpreting me to make me seem like a racist?
No one is putting words in your mouth. You put them there. We're simply calling you out as a racist based on your own words...
But I never mentioned race. I already told you, anyone can be a thug, and lynching is not something reserved for black people.
Off topic question: Where does the line between forum culture and politeness go here? Am I allowed to call you a c**t? The rules say no, but at the same time, if I said "frankly I find that very offensive" I have a feeling I will be told to deal with it.

You do realize you were talking about a black man. Also, lynchings of white men happened in the old west, however, since then, lynchings in this country have been mostly , if not all, carried out against black men. Lynching now pertains to a very sad part of the black experience.

I don't care if he was black white yellow or green, the guy was a thug who robbed people and stole stuff, and he went for his gun, which no man with good intention does.
If I said "beat the everloving s**t out of him" instead of "lynch", would that make me less of a racist in your eyes?

Probably not...
If you think that then you are ignorant of how that word has overwhelmingly been used in your country. It's most obvious in sporting discussions, when Gridiron players are called thugs much more often than (overwhelmingly white) hockey players,

I don't follow American Handegg, as I'm a Norwegian and that sport holds little relevance here, nor do I care for ice hockey, so I do not follow that either, so I cannot really comment on that.
Instead, let's look at the oxford dictionary of the word "thug":
Definition of thug in English:
noun
1A violent person, especially a criminal: he was attacked by a gang of thugs
Source: https://www.oxforddictionaries.com/defi ... glish/thug
I still don't see how using the word "thug" makes me a racist. Is it that people use the word "thug" only when it comes to black people, or what? Whether you call him a "thug", "hooligan", or "gangster", does not matter. He was a man up to no-good and got what was coming to him.

It must be nice to have all the right answers for everything, right???

Haha, yes! With modern search engines and a high speed Internet connection, it's actually quite easy not to make stupid mistakes like calling someone a person who discriminates based on race, for calling a criminal who had caused great discomfort and injustice unto others a "thug"! It sure is nice to know how to look things up! :3

Too bad a search engine and high-speed internet connection doesn't enable you to see sarcasm!

It's "not so with blacks", because blacks have made it, not so. They have chosen to separate themselves. They have chosen NOT to assimilate. Then, after so many decades of continuing to be viewed as "the lesser", now they're whining that people still look-down, upon them. Obviously, this does NOT apply to ALL blacks----and, those who've chosen to assimilate, have done well, and are no longer looked-down upon----except by other blacks, of course, because they know that when a black person improves themselves, that everybody will look at them, and say "Why can't YOU be that way", and it's much easier to blame everybody else for why their life sucks.

It's also a forum where most mannerly, respectful people don't register one day, and the very next day, start fighting with people!

Really? You do know that there was at one time a thing called legal segregation, don't you? And even though segregation is no longer legal, even after all these years blacks are still confined to poorer areas due to economic and social reasons based on racism. And why shouldn't they want to live with other black people who won't judge them for their skin color? Blacks in poor neighborhoods dream of being able to leave crime ridden ghettos for somewhere better. Where did you get this information that blacks don't want to be part of mainstream America? And sure, there have been blacks who see intellectual achievement and self betterment as "acting white," but if anything, that's a legacy of slavery and Jim Crow, where the notion held by whites that blacks are stupid and lazy has been socially ingrained in them.

Again, well said...
It would take a lot for me to say someone deserves to die. What Michael Brown did probably wasn't enough for me to say that. I might say that Osama bin Laden deserved to die, or Hitler deserved to die. As far as Darren Wilson being charged, there has to be evidence in order for there to be a conviction. I think if he had been charged he would have certainly been found not guilty because there is no evidence that his story was not true. It is possible that Darren Wilson got away with murder. Many people have gotten away with murder throughout the history of our country because the way the legal system is set up it is to protect the innocent even if sometimes a guilty person goes free.
