So... they (they being, I assume, impoverished Black Americans) say racist things OUTSIDE of ear shot and not in front of the white person?
That directly contradicts what Op said. He said black people can say racist things and no one will care, but you proved him wrong.
I don't feel I DID prove him wrong, cuz I'm thinking he meant that white people don't make such a public proclamation of it.
These racist black people know what they're saying is wrong and will upset someone, because they know someone will bat an eye.
That's exactly RIGHT!! Too large a number of them are nothing more than big fat bullies, and instigate, at every opportunity----some of 'em seem to just be begging for a white person to take offense / retort, so they can say: "See----see how these honkies treat us----always tryin' t'keep a black man, down".
Black people don't get a free pass on racism.
Almost always, they DO----again, in the sense that white people don't usually make a federal case out of it, so-to-speak.
There's context you're leaving out. How are they manipulating white people? Are they scamming them out money?
YES! There's a black guy that lives around here, that when he sees someone he knows, the first thing out of his mouth, is "You got a cigarette?"; then, the second thing outta his mouth, is: "You got a dollar?" The other day, he sat there (on the bus) telling the bus driver how he had just scammed a white man into buying him lunch, while he pulled things out of his pocket (cigarettes and money----more money than I'VE got, by far), so he could count and fold his money----he ALWAYS has money and cigarettes.
Then, there are those who scam the government, and other companies..... That's why, IMO, things like insurance goes-up, cuz of people LYING, so much----and yes, white people do it, too; but, not nearly, IMO, in the numbers that some black people do (there are some black people who wouldn't be caught DEAD, stealing and lying, like some others do).
I've sat on the the bus and watched black people take 3 and 4 phones out of their pockets----those free government phones----and say things, like: "White people are so stupid, I got 3 free phones out of the idiots".
I stood in line in front of a black woman once, and we got to talking about something (I can't remember what), and she was in the military, was on WIC, and was receiving child support, and I think that's DISGUSTING!!
That's just a couple of stories, I have a TON more!
Are they using their skin color to power over the white people in certain topics?
Yes! Practically EVERYTHING nowadays gets turned into "a race issue"----it's always, stuff like: "Black people don't have this", "Black people don't have that", "He's a racist, cuz.....", "White people are always trying t'keep a black man, down"----if that ain't using their skin color to power over white people, I don't know what is----and, those are the things I've heard with my own ears. They know the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and some of 'em are gonna make absolutely sure, they're the squeakiest, of squeaky!
Are they using programs targeted towards them? Can you explain these interactions you claim to have had?
Well, I don't know what "Are they using programs targeted towards them?", means----but, if you mean are they ABusing programs, then, YES; as I feel I've already demonstrated.
You mean black people are different everywhere? It's almost as if you can't judge people based on their skin color, but their actions and character!
I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here, either----and, I don't know if when you said "you can't judge.....", you're meaning "one can't judge"----but, if I'm having ANY understanding about that statement, I would say that's why I always try to use qualifiers, like: "some", and "not all".
You need to go back and re-read your history too. Read about the Tulsa Race Riots, the Rosewood Massacre, and how the FBI, on the orders of President Hoover, tried to take down the Civil Rights Movement. Read about Jim Crow laws and their effects well into the 60's. Black Americans weren't just inconvenienced by them, they were targeted by a genocidal culture that regularly murdered Black Americans (including children) with no consequences. Black women had to give birth to children outside of hospitals, because they weren't allowed into the white ones and there were no black hospitals in their county. Many of them and their infants died because they weren't allowed access to healthcare. Other Black Americans had to receive healthcare from veterinarians, because once again, there were no black hospitals in their area and even then, a lot of them had to go through the back door.
LOL Well, I can assure you that I, a person more than twice your age, don't have to "go back and re-read history", cuz I've LIVED it! No, I wasn't actually "there" during any of the riots / massacres, of which you speak----but no.1, I'm old enough to remember the signs tacked-up on establishments that black people had to go around back, for instance; and no.2, oftentimes when my mother would punish me, she would do so by making me read encyclopedias (and the joke was on HER, cuz I couldn't get enough of them).
Another thing is, I'm not talking about things that happened 50-150 years ago----YES, learn from history, so that it's not repeated----but, those things that happened, THEN, aren't happening to the same degree, NOW, and I'm not gonna put-up with someone (not you) continually beating me over the head with it----ESPECIALLY, when I'VE never treated a black person, that way! When we (people, in general) know better, we do better.
Also, I'm not gonna feel sorry for any black person who couldn't go to a hospital to have their baby, cuz every single person in my family, up-to and including my biological mother, had their children at home / didn't get to go to a hospital, cuz they were too poor.
Being forced to sit on the back of the bus is just the tip of the ice berg.
LOL Do you think you're the only one who knows this fact----and that you, in your great age and wisdom, are gonna teach me something!!
I highly recommend everyone look into American history of the last century. What we learned in school was downplayed and white washed.
Indeed.
The United States is a nation born under freedom and equality, and yet they needed 200+ years to realize that slavery is immoral, simply because it's not mentioned in the Bible. People who get their morality from an old fiction book that encourages intolerance and violence, are idiots with no moral standards.
White man says he hates blacks, everybody loses their minds.
Woman says she loathes men, nobody cares.
Man says he loathes women, everybody goes crazy.
In the US black people are favored in job interviews and it's seen as positive discrimination. I call BS, there's no such as thing as positive discrimination, just like there's no such thing as positive bullying. Discrimination and bullying are bad, they shouldn't take place.
So, just because you're black or a woman(or both) doesn't mean you're entitled to anything. Nobody is. Get over it.
I wish people would understand that everybody should be held to the same standards.
Nobody really wants anything special short of being equal, and asking for that isn't really asking for a lot. You just have to consider we're paying for the mistakes of our ancestors, because only for the last 40 or so years have we really removed racism and sexism from the forefront of our culture..
There's very few black people who genuinely hate white people and very few women who genuinely hate men, it's more an act of frustration you see because of the way they've been treated their whole lives by being themselves. I think you'll find most race activists and feminists are not out to get you, they just want you to understand what they go through and for you to not become the person they blog about.. it's pretty reasonable.
I'll also say this, black people and women alike are favored for job interviews in my line of work because they just don't apply..

As long as people don't put me in a general category, I'm okay.
I'm not just a white man, or a man in general. I'm Kraftiekortie, an individual.
Often it requires a change of attitudes that are significantly catalyzed by external political or judicial events, such as a court ruling (brown V. Board of segregation) to truly change society for the better. People, unfortunately, are not too quick to give up vices like prejudice and hate.

What if he was white and he was doing all that? I wonder how much more attention he would get?

Quite a bit more, and rightly so; there is a gradient of privilege and power in our culture and he's at the top. When he does such a thing, it carries far more weight, authority and the potential for systemic harm.

First off, I'm Irish. The Irish were owned as slaves as well. Second, I am an egalitarian. I don't agree with hate crime laws and I don't agree with any laws that give any group of people privileges over others. Women should not get alimony, simply because they are women. In fact, there shouldn't be such a thing as alimony. Courts shouldn't favor either sex when it comes to child custody, whites shouldn't be discriminated against in job interviews because they're white(read about the Sam's Club CEO) and the welfare system shouldn't favor minorities simply because they are minorities. Also, I live in Baltimore. If you want to see a group of black people that are addicted to drugs, are ghetto and hate white people; come to Baltimore. I would say minorities, but it's mainly blacks in the area. A big reason why they piss me off, is because there are so many of them here that are ghetto and it just feeds into whites being raciest, because so many blacks here are raciest towards whites. One of my best friends from high school is black and he hates them just as much as I do. Furthermore, I know of several people who have worked in retail and the black people working at their job especially the managers, have given them a hard time and discriminated against them. There is simply nothing they can do about it, unless they quite. Try being a white employee and filing discrimination against a black manager in Baltimore. It won't go anywhere. My friend who also has aspergers has had to quite 3 jobs because of this. Yes, it is that bad.

That is quite an assumption to make. If the white guy was a CEO, rich guy etc it would be true, but if he was a homeless unemployed guy as somebody who does those things tend to be it would be false, he would be just considered another nutcase. In New York this type of public behavior is not uncommon and gathers little attention

Of course not but the way some people are carrying on about every little thing that comes out of that man's mouth you'd think his election was inevitable and the following four (or eight) years will be like the Third Reich. They went through this same self-torture in 2011-12 with those three idiots Santorum, Bachmann, and Palin who had no chance either.

If a woman has earned the same degrees as I, been an electrical engineer for as long as I, and is working on the same projects as I, then she should be paid the same as I - no doubt about it. This is the epitome of "Equal work for equal pay".
If instead a woman with only a high-school diploma has been working on the assembly line for one-tenth the time as I have been working as an engineer, then there is no reason to pay her as much as I get paid. This is called "Fair wage".
Plain and simple.

Come to Baltimore and see how much of this ISN'T true. Dude, you live in Utah, how would you know about inner city blacks?
