I like to think of it as "There is nothing magic can't do. I simply am not powerful enough to do it... or I don't know how"

"I don't know how" shouldn't be an issue. The problem with most traditional systems of magic is that they overcomplicate things by emphasizing too heavily on magical alphabets, alignments of stars, moon phases, elaborate symbols and charts, words of power, and the list goes on. And you know, if any of those things really had any correlation, then magic would be a secular science and it wouldn't be magic. The problem with Crowley and his ilk is that they're all like, "you have to do this or it doesn't work," when really half that stuff's only useful to evoke a proper mindset and is solely dependent on the person.

Try reading up on chaos magic. It's a bit more... freeform, for lack of a better explanation. I like to think of it as a freeform Shamanism.

I'm familiar with it, actually. I've read Liber Null.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with it. I could probably write a book on the subject. I've had contact with real witches three times.

The first time was at a Christian Healing Center where we pray healing for anyone who shows up. One night these three women came in with a boy. They were very self-conscious, but they needed help. They explained to me that the boy was hanging around vampires (demonized people w/ compulsion to drink blood) and he was starting to nick himself and drink his own blood. They were unable to do anything about it, so they came to us. I blew the demon off the boy and bound the demons on the vampires and told them to come back next week. The next week, the boy and the women came back. When I offered them printed prayers for protection and healing their eyes lit up. Printed incantations they were familiar with! I was laughing up my sleeve because when they started using them, they would be opening themselves up to the Holy Spirit!

Second time was a wicca witch who needed a ride to work. I regularly gave him a ride. He had a wicca shrine in his apartment. I had no fear of him, because I could spiritually handle anything he might put out. We had some interesting conversations. I was not able to introduce him to Christ. His contract finally ended and he went back to Maine.

Third time was a woman who had been born & raised in the witch community. She, her daughter and her granddaughter were a mess -- spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. They were living in a series of apartment complexes that were entirely occupied by witches. There was a courageous Christian who took the job of discipling her up. I was brought in for exorcism. I brought in a Christian woman who had come out of Shamanism to help.

The story would be too fantastic for most of you. Suffice to say, we got rid of the ghosts, merged the multiple personalities and got rid of the poltergeist. Her daughter came in from work, saw demons coming out of her mother and started throwing up. When I left I took a large box of idols and books on magic to dispose of.

The culture shock for this woman was also pretty big. She was used to using spells on people to get them to give her money that she would quickly blow through and then look for someone else to do that with. Now she had to learn how to live on welfare and keep a budget.

The culture shock for the family-oriented church she went to was just as big. She would point to a lady-got-rocks and say she needed money and Jesus told us to share. One time she got so frustrated she dressed her daughter up and said if she didn't get some money she would peddle her ganddaughter's ass on the street. She didn't really mean it, but it took some major damage control to keep people from calling 911.

I am a Witch. Honestly I am a Witch, when I cast a spell I keep this in mind "An it harm none, do as thou wilt", also I only cast spells on myself (the most recent was a Come-to-me Love Spell) and only cast spells for the good of all that do not interfere with free will.

I have spiritually cleaned up witches who wanted to become Christians. The demonic influence starts with "white" witchcraft. As your personality hardens from the demonic influence, you will dabble in "gray" witchcraft. Later you start dabbling in "black" witchcraft. All of it is demonic. I know because I can break all curses, hexes and spells through the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I can deactivate any charm, fetish or totem.

I have had witches look me up to clean up a boy who had gotten into vampyrism. They had been unable to do anything against it. They couldn't because Satan is not going to allow his power to be used to break up his control. I did it in one minute through Jesus.

Perhaps you would like to learn about the ultimate source of power, justice, love, protection and provision. Take a look at orderofsaintpatrick.org

It's a nice idea but I don't buy it. Until I see evidence of all this hocus pocus demonstrated I continue to be skeptical. This also includes Christianity. I find this whole war of faiths thing rather distasteful and utterly ridiculous.

The last guy I knew who was into that stuff and called himself a white witch turned out to be a schizophrenic. Said schizophrenic then became a Christian and lost any semblance of reality. The vulnerable are easily led.

It's easy to put down what you don't know anything about. Ignorance is bliss, but it can also be dangerous.

I doubt that any evidence would be enough. Your faith in the atheist, materialist, Humanist worldview is too strong. You would probably prefer to believe Richard Dawkins and Randi rather than your lying eyes. Not accepting the reality of the supernatural makes YOU the crazy one. Everyone else in the world but your band of Humanists live with the reality of the supernatural.

For your sense of security, stay in your little safe Humanist ghetto. Don't go looking for the evidence that is all around you.

I'll second that. I'm Wiccan, but I believe that skepticism in general is a good thing.

Well, gee, at the risk of offense, Tim T, I'd say you've just demonstrated how easy it is to put down something you know nothing about. I'm happy for you, though, that your faith seems to sustain you so well. I find evidence around me that supports what I believe, too. In my own opinion, I don't think the circumstance that, say, you and I, for example, probably disagree on what that evidence means is really important. I'd say what's important is that we should agree to disagree peacably. You don't make me any less for not agreeing wth you, and I have not intention of trying to do that to you. It's a big planet. There's room for all kinds. Very likely, at six billion strong, most of humanity disagrees not only both of us, but with almost anyone either of us has ever met.

A little defensive there. I wasn't meaning to put anyone down. The point I was trying to make is from an outside point of view all of the bickering about whose is the original God and so forth does nothing to further the cause.

Spirituality, packaged whichever way you want can be a wonderful thing and I don't doubt it has the power to turn lives around and to inspire. The folks who irritate me are those who feel the need to evangelise. I understand that to further a religion a certain amount of 'converting the savages' will be necessary to make up the numbers; But to prey on the confused, the vulnerable and those who do not have a great enough understanding of the world in which they live is taking advantage.

I have lost friends to these 'predatory' religions and it saddens me. Once someone has reached the point where they can no longer compromise and agree to disagree because they simply will not hear a bad word spoken about what they believe in they are beyond hope. To me beliefs are there to be questioned and improved upon. To follow without questioning is ignorance.

I think I beleive in God cause Ive seen way too much of the other side. I lived with my stepdads cousin when I was 16 (I think) and he was member and associated in certain circles of very powerful people. I remember walking from his room just to use the bathroom at night which he didnt like cause I had to go pass this other guys room and I was been thrown all over the place. There was actually some thing I couldnt see that was throwing me around and there was a hell of alot worse things than that, that I cant edit.
Call me stupid. I dont care. Like my Mum said when she saw the marks around my neck "I know what youve been doing" and I replied "but I love him."
Some 16 year olds are naive so dont want any critism but what Im sayin is that Ive seen the dark side and that is why i beleive God sent an Angel to me and too he did at this time of my life but it was intersting that my angel or her presence wasnt there when I was at that place.
I feel really scared now, sorry but I thought that just had to be said. GOD is real.

You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, and you have no need to call yourself stupid—at least not to me. You find solace and support in what you believe, so you follow it. You have good reasons to decide not to involve yourself in certain things, so you don't involve yourself with them. Last I knew, that was a pretty good description of exercising one's free will. Good for you.

The strange thing about what you are writing is it applies to your own religion just as heavily and you don't even see it. You don't understand that secular Humanism is a religion in that it has a highest object of devotion (humanity) and a moral code based upon that highest object of devotion (political correctness). You are on this thread in hopes of getting others to join your religion by insulting their beliefs. You are assuming we are so stupid we just need a little obvious truth to wake us up. You are chauvinistic and don't even see it.

The Secular Humanist religion is evil. They took over the school systems so they could indoctrinate gullible children like yourself into their faith. That is predatory. The ACLU goes around using the Humanist judges to force Humanist morality on everyone. To follow Humanism without questioning is ignorance.

I once walked as a Humanist myself, before I started questioning its dogma. It heavily leans on lies. It has nihilism as its foundation. There is no connection between everything being pointless, useless & worthless -- and serving humanity as the highest good. None. So I lived as a nihilist for many years. When I found out the Bible had some supernatural prophecies in it, I read it -- and became a Christian.
