Actually, Spain seems to have a different priority. Due to the impending exit of UK from the EU, Spain is now re-stating their claim of sovereignty wrt. Gibraltar (since Gilbraltar will no longer be covered by EU treaties).

um... don't be so amused, wait when large international businesses leave your country to relocate elsewhere in Eurozone Europe, and when many of your nationals working in Euope become unemployed or poorer due to work permit costs...
and now your exports to Europe will have to compete with others like China as if you like any other foreign country, you have lost a big export advantage in this part of the world.

Institutions which some are pillars in your economy and specialists in finance and economy such the Governor of England, Confiderations of British industry, institute for fiscal studies were all for remain.

I couldn't care less, money comes and goes, obsolete industries are destroyed, new ones created, currencies die. There are more important things and Britain has survived far worse times.

I never bought this argument, they stick a tariff on our exports, we do the same to theirs. The deal will be fairly close to, if not entirely, free trade. If it's bad for us, it's also bad for them, especially the German export market, dicking their own economies for an already unpopular political project would only speed up the rise of nationalists and the dissolution of the EU.

If they give us a good trade deal, without all the extra nonsense of the EU, then other countries will want the same thing. It must be the beginning of the end.

Most of the parties do not want one. However Geert Wilders and Roemers (leader of the Socialist Party) do want one. And considering the elections are next year, changes are such a referendum will play a large roll in the electoral battle.

Sounds like what happened here in the UK. History will repeat itself.
Those parties should be listening to their voters, then the demand of these fringe parties would disappear.

I'm sure many who voted Leave would have happily remained if things were done right. But they haven't been for a long time, partly due to the above.

Honestly, I think most of those who did vote for Leave did it out of nationalist pride, emotions and exaggerated fear of syrian refugees (who are barely 1000, they don't make up 1% of what syria's nearby countries have; I am sure most who voted leave didn't meet a syrian in their life)
, and not out of a really calculated decision.

Which is a more reason why I think they wouldn't keep their HQ in UK.

I mean most of those who are working there are probably UK citizens and not Americans . It would be far easier for them to hire workers who who won't need work permits. Don't believe that the brit blood would make them immune, everyone is disposable.
