Very well said. I bolded that last sentence because I think it's a lesson worth absorbing, and one I have a lot of experience with.

Hating an entire group because some among them are a**holes is never an appropriate response. I don't hate all conservatives because some of them don't know how to communicate appropriately. All these complaints I see about "SJW's" are so petty. It always boils own to "someone was rude to me during an argument." And very often the people complaining about "SJW's" are very ignorant of their own lack of manners and decorum.

Here's what you do she someone starts being an a**hole online: Just stop responding and ignore them. More often than not their just getting off on irritating the hell out of people. A lot of these so called "SJW's" are just trolls and a lot of you guys just keep feeding them.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. These people will harass you and get you fired from your job for having the audacity to disagree with them.

Ever heard of Black Lives Matter? These are not "trolls". These are people that are starting riots. These are people making ridiculous demands to their universities (and actually getting them). Things like, the university should be paying them to do protests against the university (about things the university often has no control over in the first place). Things like creating racially segregated dorms.

Ever heard of Anita Sarkesian? This is the most well-known, mainstream feminist, who does exactly what you're claiming we're doing: taking trolls on the internet way too seriously. To the point that she actually went to the UN to ask them, no, TELL them that they need to censor the internet from these people. Comments like, "I wouldn't even rape you," or, "Where's Chris Brown when you need him?" To us these are just silly middle school kids messing around in the internet, but to them it's traumatic and "triggering".

These people are often blatantly racist and sexist, but they justify it by saying I have "white privilege" and therefore I should feel guilty for being white. And once again, these are not internet trolls. Buzzfeed, one of the most SJW channels there is on YouTube, has over 10 million subscribers and over 7 billion views. Go look up their "privilege test" video if you don't believe me. Actually, watch pretty much any of the garbage on their channel.

And if you still don't think it's serious, how about this: President Obama has publicly said multiple times that we need to fix the supposed gender wage gap, a common SJW belief. The study used to "prove" the existence of this wage gap has been demonstrated over and over to be a misrepresentation of data. The very people who conducted the study have said that it's intellectually dishonest to use it as proof of a wage gap. And yet our f*****g president is spewing this BS and pandering to these people.

If you still think it's a petty concern, you need to have your head examined.

Yes I still do think it's petty, along with most of your examples.

You know in several states it is perfectly legal to fire someone simply for being gay. So sorry I don't have too much sympathy for people who get fired for making bigoted or racist remarks. Black lives matters is not a homogeneous group. Anybody that wants to can claim they're apart if that group since it's really just a hashtag. Anita Sarkesian also does not represent all feminists, and not all of the people who like her agree with everything she says. And yes they are mostly internet trolls although some are genuine I they're beliefs. Sometimes they can spread a little on college campuses but that is a very insulated world anyway.

There have been multiple studies on the wage gap and to deny it is just denying reality.

And you're going to love this one. I see all this complaining about "SJW's" as a sign that white people are losing their white privilege and they're panicking.

So, if this problem doesn't really exist, why does it upset you so much?

So what if it's legal to fire someone for being gay? I never said I supported that, so don't go putting words in my mouth. People shouldn't be fired for personal opinions, sexual orientation, race etc.

And here I see the classic no true Scotsman fallacy. You can't just write out all the pieces of s**t that are feminists and BLM protesters. They are still a big vocal and active part of those groups. So am I supposed to just take your word for it that they are "mostly internet trolls" without any evidence of this being the case? On the contrary, there are COUNTLESS videos of SJWs screaming at others and getting violent in public. I'll repeat that last part: in public. Not on the internet. Ergo, not internet trolls.

The president does not talk about his belief in Bigfoot. If he did, yes that would be a little upsetting.

White privilege just means people desire you over an otherwise equal non-white person.

It's like being an a "VIP club".

It's like someone saying, "you have good genes".

So, SJWs are actually honoring you by acknowledging your preferential status.

The proper response is to them is to ask, why they think others hold you in such high regard?

I didn't put words in your mouth, you just didn't read the sentence correctly. I said I don't feel bad for people who get fired for being racist or bigoted mainly because that constitutes creating a hostile work environment. Likewise if someone is calling their co-workers racists just for being conservative I think they can also be fired for much the same reason. Now I'm only talking in extreme amounts mind you. I also didn't say that those groups are free from a**holes. I just said that the amount of them are over-represented by people complaining about "SJW's." And internet videos of random people acting like jackasses don't prove anything. Like I said they're a**holes of every stripe and simply collectiing videos of them shows nothing.

Pretending systematic racism and sexism have been removed from our society is laughably naive. So we're actually witnessing the mass freak out of a bunch of people that now have to acknowledge that their lily white culture has been getting more and more diverse.

There is still quite a bit of institutional racism and sexism going on.

It's much better than it was, say, in the 1960s--but work still needs to be done.

White privilege is actually the term for benefits that the majority of a culture get by being the majority. Like if someone is rude to me, or I get fired, or denied a loan, or a job, if I'm stopped or arrested by the police I never have to wonder if it was because of my skin color. I'm statistically less likely to get arrested for marijuana despite the fact that whites use it in a disproportionate amount. I'm statistically less likely to be actually convicted of a crime simply because I'm white. White privilege is not something to feel guilty about because there is nothing one person can do about it but it is something that should be acknowledged and fought by all of us.

These studies are just a broad canvas of ALL men vs ALL women, hispanics, blacks etc. Not a direct comparison of people in the same career fields. It's not the fault of sexism that men generally choose higher-paying jobs and put more focus on their careers than women, who are more likely to end up being a stay-at-home mom, working part-time etc. so they can focus on raising their children, which is a perfectly laudable thing to do. And if they don't want to do that, they can become an engineer, scientist or doctor and make tons of money, just like a man can choose to be a stay-at-home dad. Also, notice how Asian men actually make more than white men as a group. So by the logic of an SJW, Asians are actually the privileged ones when it comes to earnings, not white people, but you don't hear me complaining.

On the topic of "white privilege", what I'm saying is it doesn't exist, so it is stupid to say I have it whether it's a good thing or not. I'm not privileged or treated better simply because my skin is white. Correlation does not equal causation. It is certainly a fact that there are higher levels of poverty in the black communities. You could reasonably attribute a lot of that to the way they've been treated in the past, but currently the issue is not one of racism, but classism. Plenty of white people are in poverty, living in trailer parks and such. Things are not handed to them on a silver platter just because they're white. They have just as few opportunities as the black people living in the ghetto.
