Is BLM really talking about black-on-black crime?
It's subjecting them to investigations on the street, in front of a crowd, thereby embarrassing them.
Lots of times, these "investigations" occur when they just get off work. Many times, these people being "investigated" are working for a living, and to raise kids. They have no time to be committing crimes. They only fit some sort of "profile."
I've been subjected to a few of these myself--and I'm white. They usually only occur in "black" neighborhoods. I was in a "black" neighborhoods the few times I was subjected to this.
It's embarrassing to be "investigated" in front of a crowd of people; this crowd probably doesn't give you the benefit of the doubt--and assumes that you're a criminal.
I am one, like I've said many times, who has no objection to police. However, there are times when the police must be policed. There are times when the bad apples must be expelled from the tree.
And what about all the blacks who kill blacks? They are often innocent black people who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time; they are not always other criminals. And even many of the criminals who get killed were in some way driven to commit those crimes out of necessity. But those people are dead. More of them will die today. Many more than will be killed unjustifiably by the police, I'm sure.
I understand the sentiment that a higher standard is expected from police, but that does not justify the level of focused attention that is being given to racist white police, who make up a tiny fraction of a percentage of the police organization. It is completely unacceptable. Even if BLM got everything they're asking for, much of the black community would still be in the same sh***y situation it's in now, if not worse. Many more black people are dying because they were shot in self-defense by police or were killed by other black people. There are relatively very few cases of unjustified shootings by police. So if the police get defunded like BLM wants, do you think black crime will increase or decrease? Do you think police will feel more or less safe in black neighborhoods?
BLM is going to f**k things up royally if people keep letting them have their way.
You don't seem to actually have any concern for black lives. But you sure do spend a lot of time talking about them....
Why not concern yourselves with your peers who are raping teenage women behind dumpsters these days?

Didn't Donald Trump boldly claim immigrant rapists were entering the country?? Why not worry about all the white rapists boldly raping women behind dumpsters? Focus on that white on white crime before you worry about foreigners!
So you are telling me you think it's expected that an insane number of black people kill other black people? No one should have to be afraid of another black man shooting them in the face or stabbing them to death, and that happens way more than it does with police. So we accept it when black people do it, but not with white people? Doesn't that seem a little bit racist to you?
No, what I'm saying is, black Americans shouldn't have to feel as afraid of law enforcement as they do of criminals. That's why Black Lives Matter emphasize cop on black violence, rather than black on black violence.
Even though black-on-black violence is way more common than unjustified police violence? It's the leading cause of death in young black males! They shouldn't have to feel afraid of law enforcement or criminals; and the fact is a huge number of black people are killing each other. Cops, not so much. A black male is insanely more likely to get killed by another black man than he is by a cop.
So they should just accept this extraordinary rate of violence as normal, or blame it on white supremacy, and not talk about it? Because supposedly people being afraid of all the violent criminals is acceptable and that shouldn't be brought up, but if it's law enforcement then we should hold them all responsible and demonize them? Police officers who murder people are criminals! And a far smaller percentage of them are criminals compared to those in the black community.
What you are saying makes no sense. One of these is clearly a much bigger threat to their community as a whole, and yet BLM wants to talk about police anyway because, "We shouldn't have to feel this way around law enforcement!" Yeah, you shouldn't have to feel that way around other black people either.
Again, because blacks shouldn't have to be afraid of those who are supposed to protect everyone, but are. Just because us whites aren't afraid of cops doesn't mean that the black experience isn't different, or is that their fear of police harassment is somehow phony or unjustified.
So what you are saying is, it's fine that they feel afraid of a massive crime problem, but not if they feel afraid of the police, because the police are supposed to be protectors, while criminals in the black community are supposed to be criminals. Yes, I get it. That still makes no sense. Do you see why I think that seems racist? There SHOULD NOT be this massive crime problem, even if it's in the black community. You seem to be implying that the extreme crime rates are to be expected from the black community, and so you are coming to their defense. Why are you defending them? Why are you minimizing the actions of criminals?
But even so, should or should not is subjective. If you take the objective view, you realize that much more harm is being done to the black community as a whole because of problems that exist largely within the community. No, I'm not trying to blame or invalidate anyone, I'm saying that these people should be taking responsibility for the welfare of their own community instead of pointing the finger at white police.
Imagine you lived in a ghetto as a single black mom with a son. Would you be more afraid of your son getting shot by police walking out of a Starbucks, or more afraid of him getting shot in the crossfire of a drive-by, or becoming involved in a gang or other criminal activities? I've never lived in such a community myself, but according to people I've talked to that have and according to statistics, it seems that one of those fears is a lot more rational than the other.
And yet you're saying that the police take priority, simply because as a matter of principle you should NEVER have to fear a police officer. That's subjective crap. The focus should be on the bigger threat, and the fact is that black-on-black crime is an immensely bigger problem than unjustified police violence. Yes, that's still a problem, but the world can't be perfect, and sometimes you have to prioritize your focus.
(Sigh) No, that's not I'm saying, but I think you know that. Black Americans have every reason to be afraid of crime, but they're also afraid of the police, and they shouldn't have to be afraid of the latter.
Ergo, you think they should be afraid of and accept black crime. I don't think you realize, but that is the logical conclusion of what you are saying. Black crime is something to be feared, police are not. That is what you are saying. What I'm saying is, black people shouldn't have to be afraid of all the black crime either, and there's WAY more reason to be afraid of black crime than there is to be afraid of white police.
Also, the police that do these things ARE criminals. They do not represent police as a whole, just like black criminals do not represent blacks as a whole. But the fact is there is an insanely high percentage of black criminals in the black community. The same is not true of police.
The bigger problem is with the black community, not the police. And no, I'm not saying ALL the black community is a problem, I'm referring to the criminals.

My "peers"? Are you f*****g kidding me? That's straight up racist, you insane person. Imagine if I did the same thing to a black man: sent him pictures of a black rapist or murderer, and told him to be more concerned about his "niggas"? It wouldn't even matter if my point was somewhat valid, because that is a blatant ad hominem attack.

YOU are being obstinate. In the face of the facts that I have presented, which prove that crime is an immensely bigger problem for the black community than unjustified police violence, you continue to insist that focusing on police racism makes sense. It doesn't. I'm not saying forget about it or don't talk about it ever, but police brutality is a problem across the board, not just for black people. What is limited to black people, however, is a ridiculous level of crime.
Homicide is the leading cause of death for young black men. I have yet to see BLM even mention this. How can a group that claims to be out to save black lives be blatantly ignoring such a shocking fact about the loss of black lives? It's f*****g despicable.

No one is saying black on black violence should be ignored, but Black Lives Matter was formed specifically because cops have shot unarmed black Americans, and for that reason alone. Who knows, maybe someone will start an organization dedicated to fighting street crime in inner cities, but that will be their specialty, and not protesting cop on black violence.

First of all, Even if 99% of Cops aren't Racist there is always going to be 1% that is and that 1% is going to be focused on by the media, and most of those cases tend to be more of the cops just being nervous. Though if they're nervous they should have quit the job. That is what I think about this topic.

Gee, sorry they're complaining that cops are killing people for no good reason...must be a major bummer in YOUR day, huh?
I believe that organisation already exists. They're colloquially referred to as "cops".

Not really. I just think most of them are either liars or deluded, and that they should be corrected.

But they're mostly white, and that's unacceptable. No no, what the black community really needs is a black vigilante gang to police the streets. Whites shouldn't be policing black communities! We need to segregate these communities from them! That will fix racism! *sarcasm*

Unfortunately that particular organization contains individuals who are trigger happy around black people. Case in point: when that idiot cop forgot who was the alleged assailant, and shot the therapist instead of the autistic man (why anyone should shoot a harmless autistic man in the first place makes no sense) because said cop saw a black face.

Yeah, so what I got out of that was: I don't care if they're dying unlawfully, I just want to shout my opinion really loud like this issue somehow effects me personally like it does them.
