Selling a yacht and a shared business venture is not 'bailing out' sorry, that's their words not reality.

Saudi Arabia has controlled our politics far too long, they are not a real ally and quite frankly I think of as the foremost enemy. Saudi Arabia is the source of all the terrorist filth we've been dealing with the last 15 years, that is where the ideology comes from and where the money flows out of to these groups. They are poisoning the entire Islamic world with their Salafi/Wahhabi beliefs. Trump is the only one that will hold the Saudis accountable, Hillary sure as hell won't.

If he didn't have the liquidity from the Saudi Prince's purchase he would have lost all retaining interests in the company that bears his name since he couldn't have covered the interest on his debts-- so yeah the Saudi Prince bailed his ass out like Hank Paulson and a Wall Street bank, pretty much exactly like that.

Stick to something you understand, which is obviously not finance.

Trump has gotta stop making these stupid jokes; he could really have gotten in real trouble this time.

I wish he'd go back to being a real-estate magnate/reality show host.

He didn't have any liquidity? That is just patently untrue, he didn't own any buildings at the time? Why are you taking the word as some Saudi Prince anyway?

I still think it's a dangerous game to be courting Putin. Very dangerous.

Especially because of the nuclear aspect of things.

More dangerous than pissing him off by organising a putsch in the Ukraine turning the country away from neutrality and putting the Sevastopol arrangement in jeopardy?

Dude, when the bank demands 3.5 million dollars, they want 3.5 million dollars, not some building that may or may not be worth 3.5 million dollars depending on the current market-- they're a bank, not a real estate investor. That's why Donald should be thanking his lucky stars the Saudi Prince bought his yacht, he needed the liquidity (i.e. cash) to pay his debts because the bank wasn't going to take some random buildings-- again, they're a bank, not a real estate investor. Not only that but the entire problem with his New York building empire of the 90's was that the equity was negative-- he owed more on the properties than they were actually valued at, yet another reason a bank would prefer CASH.

Edit: don't blame me Donald was foolish enough to buy high (late 80's) and sell low (mid 90's), that's his poor business sense, not mine.

It's obvious that Russia had imperialistic designs on the Ukraine.

They want to get that strategic area known as the Crimea.

The EU and US had imperialistic designs on Ukraine, they have since the end of the cold war. Read what bigniew Brzezinski wrote about it in the 90s, this was planned for a very long time. We spent billions on 'building democracy' in the Ukraine over the last couple decades, we've felt it necessary to push the Russians out of the Black Sea and to stop them from ever being whole again with Ukraine. It was the EU that gave Ukraine an ultimatum, either they join the EU and leave the customs union with Russia or they will forever be shut out from Europe. It wasn't Russia that made these demands, then these Soros funded protests started happening along some hardcore neo-Nazis foot soldiers. Then there is mystery sniper that shot both government security forces and protesters that gets blamed on Yanukovych and sets everything off. Yanukovych may of been corrupt but he was the legitimate democratically elected leader of Ukraine, his opponents are no less corrupt at all. The coup government was wildly anti-Russian and wanted to force the half of the country that is Russian or speaks Russian to speak their language that they never have. Crimea was never Ukrainian, it was only given to the Ukrainian SSR as a "gift" from Nikita Khrushchev who was Ukrainian himself and it all was the Soviet Union so it didn't matter at the time. This has been a point of contention since the end of the Cold War.

How hard do you think it is sell a yacht? Do you think Trump himself was the one doing it? I'm sure Trump had plenty of assets worth as much or more. $3.5 mil is small potatoes, so what he sold a boat? If Trump is so poor at business then he is worth billions? That's not a bail out, that is a simple transaction. Inferring some conflict of interest with Saudi Arabia makes zero sense, what are you even implying with all of this?

Trump should stick to business; politics doesn't agree with him.

I really hope you're working on a degree in International Relations somewhere. Your talents are being wasted here with us ordinary folks. :D

It is a fact that Russia invaded Ukrainian land. They would have probably fully invaded Ukraine had there not been a international outcry.

It's like the US bringing troops into Canada.

I'm not implying anything, he does business with Saudi Arabia: he'd be a poor businessman if he wanted the country to go under, since his investments would go with it.
Media Matters link containing 8 different sources documenting his Saudi/Middle East business ventures

He CLAIMS he's worth billions, I've seen estimates as low as 200-300 million. No one knows but him because he won't release his tax returns for outside verification. I'm worth trillions, but I'm not going to release the information for you to verify until MY audit is over-- you'll just have to trust me and know that I know more than Donald because my claimed wealth is more than his claimed wealth.

Not when you're doing it to pay off debts, that's called "liquidating assets" and when you hear that term, there's a good possibility someone is in financial trouble.

perhaps a dumb question, but how is encouraging a foreign entity to hack into our systems not treasonous?

Nature of politics: you have enough supporters and you're untouchable. It's actually the same boat Hillary is swimming in right now too.

I have my own opinions about Saudi Arabia, I feel Trump best represents them and comes to closest but that's still probably quite a few degrees short of what I actually believe. I don't care that Trump did business with Saudis or Middle Easterners, what is being inferred here?

Do you really believe Trump is only worth $200-300 mil? How much he has in liquid cash is another thing but he's making a fortune every year with how high priced Manhattan real estate is. In 2014 alone he made like $400 million, he's obviously very rich and you don't get that rich without being a great businessman.

Trump had some financial troubles in the early 90s but he never was personally bankrupt and had many many assets worth much more than a measly $3.5 mil. Not a bailout, not even close to the definition. A yacht, who cares?
