In regard to the D.C. National Guard Leader: I've never been a member of the D.C. National Guard, but when I was in the military, stationed at the Pentagon, I learned a teeny-tiny bit, about them.....

IIRC, the Leader serves "at the pleasure of the President"----which means, he is APPOINTED by the president; so, it's not "alarming" that PE Trump would pick a new one, if that's what happened (it's no different from the Cabinet containing new members, with a new president).

Also, the D.C. National Guard is REAL Army (they're not "weekend warriors", like some other states' Guard----obviously, they COULDN'T be), and that means that the Secretary of Defense (I think) can choose a new leader (or, President Obama), as is usual, with a new incoming president.

I might watch it out of curiosity, I guess that kind of conflicts with the reasons some here suggest a liberal would watch it for.

Watching out of curiosity is a great reason for a liberal to watch it. I think this inauguration has been politicized a little too much. I get that people don't like Trump, to be honest I really don't like him either. The inauguration is a ceremony, a peaceful transition of power, and a hallmark of our society.

The inauguration of Donald Trump will be a joke, a non-believable joke. After all the redneck, duck calling, moonshine swilling bands perform, Trump will come out and say how wonderful America is for voting him into office, how he will do his best to keep America from falling apart, and how grateful he is to have such a wonderful cabinet surrounding him.

No. One. Will. Believe. That. Tripe.

If they do, Trump accomplished what all leaders throughout history have done - prey on the sympathies of the small-minded and stupid, then shaft them as soon as their backs are turned.

Meet the new boss; same as the old motherf*ckers.

I suppose I am also curious about the marijuana protest that is supposed to happen...

I was concerned people may be arrested, but apparently the cops have decided arresting people for smoking pot isn't on their priority list.

How come it's always okay to sh*t on the people who live in rural areas? Not saying you as an individual do it all the time, but every time people find out I live in the backwoods they laugh and make hillbilly jokes. I'm getting sick of it. There's nothing inherently wrong with redneck culture (racism and bigotry are not a part of redneck culture), and if you actually talk to people in rural areas you'll see they're just as intelligent as the "cultured" city dwellers.

A lot of country won't be saying "Thank God It's Friday" this week.
