Her lawyer makes a good case; if only it had ended there. (9m55s)

I think Griffin is more of a shock jock than a comedian. The Trump picture is totally disgusting and shows extremely poor judgment.

Oh good grief what a load of absolute rubbish, what little of it I listened to. I never even heard of this person before this. But I like the idea of her continuing and others following suit. Might as well take the brakes off counter productive full scale craziness. Pull out all the stops. Go full throttle. Moar!

But this was a well known celebrity who's an outspoken liberal and CNN employee holding a bloody decapitated head ala ISIS for a professional video/photo shoot intended for global distribution.

What past incident is a true equivalency to that?

To me personally it's not as much of an outrage, as facepalming at liberals continuing to make "this is how bananas liberals are" demonstrations. How's about something dignified and sane looking just once for a change?

Celebrities stick their foot in their mouth all the time, she just stuck hers in further. As in all the way to her butt hole.Remember when Gilbert Godfrey lost his Aflac job when he made a dark humor comment about the tsunami in Japan?Celebs like attention, and she got more than she bargained for.
Disgusting as it it,it's still free speech.
Trump should have been aware from the past Obama incidents and get over it.Presidents get unsavory attention,it's just a fact.
People and the media also have a right to bash the president, they wouldn't attack Trump so much if he didn't give them the fuel to work with.

I'm just saying I think that effigy deal went beyond any Obama ones in its scope. And while I am unwilling to watch all 30 whatever minutes of that video, it sounded to me like it was being justified and things will be taken to the next level. I doubt anyone ever did a half hour press conference on an Obama effigy or that they had their lawyer making a speech for them. I don't think Gilbert Godfrey did anything like that.

I mean is she supposed to receive hero status now? As a matter of fact I think that's what her lawyer said using some kind of wordplay. As for fuel, they take every little thing and blow it completely out of proportion, so it all just comes out as nonsense. I'm not upset over it, I just think it's all going to blow up in their faces eventually, if it hasn't already.

I mean I would think the idea would be to turn those who voted for Trump (including the electors) against him, but I think all it's been doing is turning Trump voters much further against them to a huge degree. And I think they are just going to continue making it worse for themselves.

it was really a dumbass move on the part of Griffin.

I'm not a lover of Trump---but that probably crossed the line.

I hope Ms Griffin really think about what she did. It was no good.

No hero status for her in my book.It was stupid and she or someone near her should have considered the backlash they would get.I don't see why a lawyer should be involved unless she thinks she will be charged with something.Stupidity isn't a crime.
Awhile back Whoopi Goldberg had a sitcom and made a negative joke about Bush on it and the show was cancelled becuse of it.It was nowhere as controversial as what Griffin did.Sorry,I don't remember the show's name. She ran a hotel on it and it was pretty funny. Her brother on the show was a conserve and she was a liberal, lots of entertaining banter between the two.
Griffin apologized, that's about all she can do at this point.

Somebody please explain to me why her stupidity is important. It is not like she actually beheaded somebody. It was a joke in really bad taste nothing more. As Autistic people plenty of us have told jokes that have insulted people.

It's stupid because there are people (namely kids) who might actually believe that Trump was actually beheaded.

Oh no I certainly didn't mean in your book. I was just wondering if that's what she was going for to try turning things around with the dramatic speech from her lawyer and all that. But whatever, it'll be old news soon enough. Maybe this will simmer things down a little. I'm all for jokes about politicians and presidents. But I think in Trump's case everything as a whole has been way overdone. Not like I feel sorry for him or anything. But I think it's been counter productive like I said for those who are against him.

I think maybe it was like a symbol that things are starting to go too far with certain media and celebrities regarding Trump.

^^^ What Griffin did, frankly, gave Trump supporters ammunition.

That's another reason why it was stupid. In an extreme reaction, it can even make Trump a martyr of some kind.

Well exactly. That's what I've meant when I've talked about overkill and it being counter productive.

As a side note, apparently the most devastating outcome of this is that she lost her job doing Squatty Potty commercials. Which explains to me why I've never heard of her before if that was a big thing going for her.

Trump's bloody head is being used in anti-Democrat attack ads to characterize liberals as looney.
