The biggest lies of 2017
And the Muslim ban thing (from certain countries) may not last either as the Saudi's may bribe him to end it. And he may take the bribe.
For me at least it's more like I don't see everything he does as having some nefarious plan behind it.
That tax reform of his does benefit him and his rich friends, while the middle class tax cuts are temporary.
His attempts to strangle Obamacare can potentially leave millions of people without medical coverage.
He's thrown the LGBT community under the bus - a thing he promised he'd never do - to repay his fundie and holy roller supporters for their votes.
He's killed off net neutrality, rendering a public utility like the internet a thing to be controlled by the rich and powerful.
There's plenty more examples I could cite of Trump's nefarious plans behind facades and false promises, but it's too depressing for me to go on.
I understand. I personally don't see those things quite the same way. I mean if he's that blatantly out to screw over and even kill off that many Americans, he doesn't have any future as a president.
He can keep rolling along as President as long as he has enough supporters who believe everything he tells them.
Yep.
Anyone can get away with murder if they have a decent propaganda machine.

In my opinion, America hasn't fallen too far. In fact, despite its many problems, I think that America is currently in a fairly good place. Really.
Look at American history. For a very large portion of American history, black people were slaves and Native Americans were treated like wildlife.
There is currently some tension between America and Mexico, but at least America isn't trying to steal Mexican land anymore.
Additionally, only white male landowners could vote at first. As a result, America is arguably more democratic now than when it was founded ... despite the horrifying corruption of democracy that's going on right now.
I actually don't think that Trump is the worst president ever. Honestly. Read about Andrew Jackson. Not even Trump is as bad as Old Hickory.
The only thing in America that has never been worse is the environment ... and there are ways to turn that around.

thank you, you have succeeded in ameliorating some of my anxiety

My vote for the biggest lie (and the one that was most obviously a blatant lie from the outset) is the June 2016 pretence about the "Russian adoption" meeting. It was obvious because it had nothing to do with any issue Trump was campaigning on, and it offered Trump and his offspring no direct benefit, it was not a topic that Trump or the Trumps generally had ever wasted a moment of their time or attention on before, and (most tellingly) it didn't serve Trump's characteristic and overweening self-interest. It didn't fit with his absolute characteristic of "what's in it for me". Red Flag!
It's the biggest in the sense that this is the one that is most likely, IMO, to be the one that exposes Trump to consequences that he can't lie, buy or sue his way out of, and he surely knows that the Russians are bound to have a tape of what was really discussed, which is useful to them in a number of ways. It won't be for sale, no matter how much Trump may offer...
I hazard a guess that there is a Russian library of Trump tapes of various kinds in the Kremlin, and their release dates will be approved by Putin when it most suits him. Unlike Trump, Putin plays a long, (very long) carefully considered game. In terms of political guile, Trump is like a beginner checkers player though his delusional vanity persuades him that he is the equal of a chess grand master, which is somehow both tragic and laughable.

One Thing: The Muslim ban already doesn't apply to Saudi Arabia.
You get a 9/10.
Never said it did. Saudi Arabia however pays other countries to take refugees as they don't want them in their country themselves.
our educational system is designed to dumb us down, to create compliant drones and nothing more. only the children of the wealthy get anything resembling a true education. Canada at least has a somewhat more decent public educational system. I don't believe you would ever vote for somebody like pr*sident prettyhair. you have better sense than that.
No that's not true at all. Our government did very similar things to us in the past (and currently too). Our education system is nothing special. The liberal government has made so many cuts they can't even repair schools as far as renovations for children and many kids share books. Canada is just as corrupt and greedy as the U.S.
I disagree.
In Canada, there are laws that keep money out of politics to a certain degree. This is precisely what America needs.
Canada should try to make these regulations even stricter.

Go to Vancouver and you will be singing a different tune. The let the billionaires buy out most of that city and there is mass money laundering and other corruption. Trudeau is currently spending tax payers money lavishly, you have not heard even half of the ''stories''.
