Why do some on the right actually dislike Donald Trump?
Prometheus18 wrote:
Because there is absolutely no difference, as I'm getting sick of saying, between the policies bid Trump and those of Obama - or Bush - or Clinton. You vote for EITHER party in America and it's Big Business that wins. When will Americans learn this? Perhaps it's the fluoride in the water.
How many children have Democrats stolen from their parents and locked in cages in desert concentration camps?
How many Democrats think that Nazis are "very fine people", were endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, or are actively anti-democratic; working to deny Americans 1st & 14th Amendment rights by partisan gerrymandering, voter suppression, and voter intimidation? How many Democrats vow to overturn Roe or enable de jure bigotry and discrimination through "religious liberty" exemptions?
While there are similarities, there are stark, undeniable differences.
To say "both parties are exactly the same" is sophomoric simple-minded BS of the lowest order.

A more germane question might be phrased; "Why does anyone on the Right actually like Trump?", other than the glaringly obvious; he hates the same minorities as they do.
Lesser of two evils.
Many Democrats are seen as OK with killing babies and stealing people's money.

What are you talking about? Obama continued supporting Middle Eastern torturers with a vengeance.
As for the second part of what you said, it only proves my point the more; all of your silly arguments are based upon the fact that Trump is a nastier PERSON than Obama/Clinton/Bush/Reagan and all the other frauds who have occupied the White House in recent years. This is no doubt true, but it's not what I'm talking about; what I'm talking about is that his POLICIES are no different from those of any other recent president which is, namely - whatever the highest bidder asks for. You've been conned, I'm afraid.

Same for Republicans, as long as those babies live in foreign countries and aren't white. As for the money ... how do you think those Republican robber-barons get so wealthy in the first place?
Okay, we get it.
People love mass murder, can everyone just admit that and move on?

There are (thank goodness) still Republicans who regard the binary hatred driven by right wing tribalists with sincere distaste; they refuse to parrot the lies spewing out of the the White House as an extraordinary rate, and take them up and be part of the catch cries of the clamouring Trumo mob, unfashionable though that is with Trump's true believers.
They refuse to sacrifice their integrity to the confused adulation a conman.

And even the sane ones are getting pounded electorally. Simply having an R next to your name automatically and irreversibly associates you with Trump, even if you oppose his rhetoric.

Trump's solution seems sensible.

Here's a thought; just for once, let's at least try to set aside our white supremacy, ethnocentrism, selfishness, and sense of entitlement, and at least try to live up to our ideals as Americans and behave like Christians.
“‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were once foreigners in Egypt."
Leviticus 19:33-34
“The man who has two coats is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do the same.”
Luke 3:11
Failing that, we could make good faith efforts to comply with international law (Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The United Nations 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, and the 1967 Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees), U.S. law (8 U.S.C. § 1158), and Article 2 Section 4 & Article 4 Section 2 of the United States Constitution, and guarantee all of them fair and impartial due process of their applications for asylum.
Or, of course, we could follow Trump's "leadership"; surrender our morals & values to a man who clearly has none, indulge our innate racism, xenophobia, and bigotry, and behave like a bunch of frightened children.

Yes, that's what we're going to do.
They can stay in tent cities, guarded by the military, while we process their application for asylum, and try to figure out who these people are.
However, only like 20% of asylums applicants get approved. So, like 80% will be shipped back eventually.

Yes, that's what we're going to do.
Make sure Trump & Nielsen get the memo.

Roberts criticizes Trump for 'Obama judge' asylum comment
Quote:
Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against President Donald Trump for his description of a judge who ruled against Trump's migrant asylum policy as an "Obama judge."
It's the first time the Republican-appointed leader of the federal judiciary has offered even a hint of criticism of Trump, who has previously blasted federal judges who ruled against him.
Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn't have "Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges." He commented in a statement released by the Supreme Court after a query by The Associated Press.
Roberts said on the day before Thanksgiving that an "independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."
The president complained that his opponents file lawsuits in courts that are part of the liberal-leaning 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Before he took office, conservative groups tended to bring challenges to Obama-era policies in Texas, part of the conservative-leaning 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
"Every case that gets filed in the 9th Circuit, we get beaten. And then we end up having to go to the Supreme Court, like the travel ban, and we won," Trump said.
The president went on to say about the asylum ruling: "This was an Obama judge. And I'll tell you what, it's not going to happen like this anymore. "
