Like I said, information warfare. In the future, the video may not even need to be real, but computer generated, based on a real scene but altered to convey the desired impression.

Agreed. If deep fakes come along while our culture is in this kind of shape we'll probably be looking like Syria did a few years ago - ie. Hobbes's nightmare with such a complex group of actors that hardly anyone can make sense of it.
