"Far Left," to me, means Socialism or Communism.

"Far Right" is Nazism and that ilk.

I might not like some of the more "green" ideas---but to call that "far left" is an exaggeration, in my opinion.

Islamic extremism is the worst because of events like 9/11 (3000+ deaths).

Quantifying murder from an ignorant standpoint is the worst.

Clearly you have not observed firsthand the fact that one death is equally unjustified to a million.

The topic is about ranking extremists groups based on body count.

9/11 was an example of Islamic extremism.

It's not the left or right that's the problem, it's the cynical billionaires jerking both their chains in equal measure.

However I think it's important to point out the difference between punching nazis & terrorism.

They can’t claim to be a public space or utility to get benifits and protection then denying people their rights that are guaranteed in public spaces.

It’s also hypocritical of them to claim to support openness, free speech, different opinions etc then censor everyone who disagrees with them. And can a business refuse customers based on their beliefs? That’s discrimination. Can I refuse to allow women on my site?
Then there’s the fact that small sites get screwed over by broadband providers that cater to big sites. Try making a competing site to YouTube! What there isn’t any? YouTube has a monopoly? They claim to be a public space. They violate their own company policy to censore conservatives. Then when they get sued by the bigger channels back down to avoid a paying millions. It’s the small channels who can’t afford lawyers who lose out. If YouTube blocked me I can’t do anything but big channels like Mac with money, lawyers and YouTube reps get it fixed and YouTube admits their mistake. Such admitince should show clear their policy enforcement is bad. I like YouTube but it’s horrible company. Glad I’m too shy to make videos. It’s also funny they screw big channels out of income but still
Profit off them. For now money trumps their wanting to suppress right leaning people so if you have millions of subscribers they allow you to spout stuff try disagree with for now

Enjoy your ethical race to the bottom. You two don't seem very appreciative of any death, let alone mass murder.

Are you saying you want cheerleaders at the next 100 funerals? Take it somewhere else, this is pathetic.

Probably not now they realise the Democrat party has been lying to them for 3 years and spent their money on the biggest hoax in US history. It would take someone like Tulsi Gabbard to beat Trump but the psychopathic media will try to stop her as well as her own party. Flooding the country with illegal immigrants aren't "civil rights gains".

Only the most hard core Trump supporters, who had never voted Democrat in the first place, close their minds completely to Russian collusion. The Dems who voted for Trump because of the way Bernie had been screwed, as well as those union members in the Rustbelt, will be more than happy to come home.

Keep thinking that. I just watched a recent report that says Trump will likely win in 2020 because the dems getting the most attention are bring up far left policies and the labor unions strongly feel that the democrats don't seem to care about them at all.

The report stated that unless there happens to be a bad turn in economics before election time, Trump will likely win by a landslide. That was from a politico article.

I seriously can't believe that America would be particularly well off after eight years of Trump. Say bye bye to American greatness, and hello to a reinvigorated Russia under Putin, ushering in a new era of world wide autocracy.

Seriously, if you're making this about your political agenda & not the sanctity of life around you, you're not demonstrating much respect at all.

It's the lacking capacity for consensus among us that causes violence.

These things tend to happen in periodic rashes, while on some level I hope this won't go much farther and will just shrink back into the catacombs I know that the neoliberal order of things is squeezing people badly enough across the west that we're likely to see both right and left-wing extremism keep climbing, and I mention both not to dismiss the horrors of the right but because they both energize each other.

The most important thing to look at when you see ugly trends is what kinds of social geology/seismology are driving the quakes. Wages have been flat and even depreciating since the 1980's, Mark Blyth talks about that in his Global Trumpism as a popular revolt against Keynesianism by the elite (ie. the investor class we're losing their shirts to debtors when high inflation was a thing) and Eric Weinstein often suggests that this even started in the 1970's.

If you financially squeeze people it comes out in strange places, and I think it's because - in our culture(s) - that's the symbol of your status, your personal success or failure, so you're not allowed to complain about it. Eric and Bret also put it rather well - ie. that the conditions that made the workplace work as a fair income distribution system were contingent on a whole list of factors that lined up coincidentally quite well for perhaps a few generations if not a few hundred years, yet the alignment of those conditions is deteriorating as the conditions of technology confound their relationship.

Image

We've mistaken that for a state of what scientific progress does for culture and while it feels nice I don't think there's any solid evidence that economic laws as we've come to popularly believe them hold under anything but rather finely-tuned conditions.

Yes, many people are simple apes obsessed with dominating and killing the next ape and there's not a whole lot of sophistication that they have over or above that. Still, it's interesting to see that these things rise and fall and that there were times where the number of active white supremacists you could find were quite low. We don't know how to genetically re-engineer the common denominator, but, we should have some clue as to how to parse out changes in the landscape and what they mean.

The polar opposite is true. Only die hard Democrat voters have hung on to the Russiagate hoax. That's the problem right there, this native attachment to a corrupted party however terrible the candidate is. Now the Russiagate hoax is there for all to see and if the Democrats put up a terrible candidate again Trump will win easily.
