I don't like all these gun nuts in my country either. I think it should be ok for RESPONSIBLE people to own guns for things like hunting or self defense, but when news of school shootings or people shooting up churches, theaters, and rock concerts happen every year that tells you that there is something seriously wrong with our gun laws.

And you're wrong, it's not nice to be critical of another country. Every country has its problems and people should concentrate on their own problems, not the problems of other people.

Don't people get very offended when Americans talk about how horrible they think things are in Mexico or Iraq? Why should it be any different for people from the UK and Canada to criticize us? It's not as if they live here. Our problems are none of their business!


A lot of problems aren't confined to specific countries though, a problem in one country can effect other countries, or things one country does can affect another country. I mean for instance China has decided it does not want to accept as much U.S recycling garbage...as a result certain states/cities are hauling plastic into incinerators and burning it. In the face of global warming and a real need to reduce emissions and move towards green energy...we're just lazily burning plastic 'recycling' because china doesn't want it anymore. We should probably be improving the recycling industry here and hell maybe create some jobs that way, but no much better to burn it and put even more Co2 in the air. Which in turn of course deeply affects communities near those trash incinerators...but also puts more pollution into the air which effects the entire planet. You can't just focus on issues in one country, because a lot of issues are interconnected. Or like tarrifs other countries put on U.S goods, or tarrifs the U.S puts on goods from other countries its all connected. The immigration issues in the U.S and Europe are kind of self created if you look at history, turns out imperialism had consequences.

Last example the internet, it is very easy to talk to people from other countries these days...so you're going to be exposed to issues in their countries or maybe if you have foreign friends you could be concerned about them depending on what is going on in their country.

I agree with all that, and I guess what I was really trying to say is it's not fair to judge people from another country for the sins of their government.

I know that countries like Russia and China do terrible things but I would never condemn somebody just for being from those countries. And believe me I have met people online from other countries who condemn me just for being American, some have even gone so far as to call me a white supremacist....

And how would you stop it without trampling the responible peoples right ?
See there’s 100million plus gun owners and how many of them commit mass shootings? Yet the response is to punish gun owners and treat them like a problem if we were a problem most the nation would be dead all it’d take is every gun owner killing 2 people each and the USA would be gone.
Mass killings happen all over the world and not just with guns. We can’t detect evil people. So these things will keep happening even if guns were banned completely.
There’s nothing wrong with our laws there’s something wrong with our society.
Some guy rapes his dying best friend then throws her body in his trash and heads to work and you think our gun laws are why things are bad. No it’s a society that doesn’t value human life that’s at fault.

Gun owners aren’t your enemy we are the bad guys.

Why? No one wants to go to Canada anyways lol. But seriously note the lack of illegal border crossing at simi level as the USA has. Also note Canada population didn’t increase as the us did. Why didn’t people immigrate to Canada in the 1700-1900s like they did to the USA. Certainly Canada offers the same land and resources as the USA did so why wasn’t there mass immigration.
Canada has a small population to similar land size and is not as mixed population.
I’m not suggesting anything other then clearly people didnt and still don’t want to move to Canada. But also today Canada has much stricter immigration laws then the USA but did they back in the 1800s too?

I’m but curious. Maybe I’ll research it this weekend.

I would respond to this but... nope.

You have your opinion about guns and I have mine.

But if I ever get executed I hope I get put to death by firing squad. That would be quite the interesting experience. :salut:

I happen to like going to Canada. And I wouldn't mind living there, either.

Canada has lots of natural beauty---just like the United States does.

It you aren’t in a rush or planing to move there so it’s mute. If I had to move it’s probably be Canada doesn’t mean I want to move there nor do most immigrants it seems.
People want to move to the USA and do so in masses. So despite being beautiful nation Canada doesn’t seem to have what people want when considering moving to other nations. Even wealthy elites who said they’d do so have despite the events they said would cause them to move happening so Canada is worse then the USA for them or certainly they’d moved there being wealth they’d be allowed to and live comfortably there. I would like to visit Canada, maybe Winnipeg or Thunder Bay. I think you can travel someplace and live there for a while and not do anything special.

i doubt the economy will mitigate the polarization in us and uk that much.. it seems generational ..

eu looks divided..

the rest of the world you lower your expectations..

oceania sounds like the only safety haven left.
