Funny how the right, which was once so fanatically Anti-Russian, are now calling the Russians are friends, and are even trusting them more than American intelligence and law enforcement. The Russians have truly influenced America in a way no one would have ever believed.

The left criticized the right for their anti-Russian rhetoric; now they have adopted it. Is that not equally funny? Blaming Russia is politically advantageous for the left, currently -- hypocrisy be damned!

I don't recall the left ever defending Russian totalitarianism or expansionism.

There were plenty of Dems who criticized the Pubs for being hawkish toward Russia. My point is the roles have now reversed. It's all useful rhetoric that has no basis in reality. When Trump sat down with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, he was harshly criticized by the left for not taking a harsher stance. The left would have been praising Obama for trying to make peace. Polls showed that 79% of Pubs were in favor of the NK deal. If had been Obama, the numbers would have been far lower. I'm sure you get the point I'm trying to make. Political positions are rarely consistant, and both sides are neck deep in hypocrisy.

Yes, Obama tried making peace with North Korea, but he never, ever gave away the whole store. He would never have done anything as stupidly irresponsible as ending war games with South Korea, or laying off on verification of Kim's nuclear weapons.
Sure, liberals had thought the right was too hawkish regarding the Soviet Union, but none of them ever doubted the Soviets were an anti-democratic threat. Now, you have American conservatives singing the praises of Putin, an anti-democratic strongman tied up with extra-governmental oligarchs and even Russian organized crime. Two very different situations.

^ But Russia is no longer the communist Soviet union.
I’ve noticed that all the devout Christians everywhere (not just Right Americans) love Putin, he is seen by them as the anti-ISIS and protector of Christians, this how Putin promoted himself actually in the Syrian war.
Trump and his supporters probably view him in the same way.

What really surprises me is how Trump doing nothing regarding the recent Russian presence in Venezuela.
I bet soon enough they will have warheads pointed just under your noses.

No, Russia clearly isn't the communist Soviet Union of old, but Putin wants to restore Russia's glory days of those times. And he has in fact convinced the Christian right that he's their defender, even though in Russia, the only faith actually accepted and supported by the Kremlin is the Russian Orthodox church. He is no friend of American style evangelicalism.
As for Russian missiles... I seriously hope not, but if so I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
